Nothing really is shown here that we couldn’t have guessed already. Megatron started a movement that many Cybertronians backed, and the Autobots split off from that after his violent, authoritarian ambitions became clear.

Did Megatron lose his accent? Not bad. I'm unoffended by this show and it seems interesting enough, but it's also not my favorite thing. We're getting brief glimpses of a lively world but I just wish that we could spend a little more time with pretty much everyone. All these Cons seem cool but I just wish they had more time being fleshed out. And Ratchet, Hot Rod, Arcee, Prowl, Chromia, have barely/not appeared and not even spoke.

I will say tho, "I am not asking" is a great Optimus Prime line.

Solid world-building. Wish we had more than 11 minutes for this story.

This and Episode 8 are surprisingly dark.

Have you seen Episode 8 or are you basing that off the preview clip?

Watched them both on Demand. Episode 7 is not there for some reason.

It aired in Canada yesterday. (I'm sensing repeats for me in the near future.)

I liked that they kept Megatron's political career and his hand in Bumblebee's broken voice box in the series. It does in fact continue with the whole "absolute power corrupts absolutely" mentality that TF Prime had. And the fact that when Bee first saw more of his persona (aside from when he tried to get the Allspark before Prime threw it into the spacebridge) in his memory vids, that he became enamored with Megatron's stance all over again. It shows how much of a golden tongue (or, apparently, glossa) the Leader of the Decepticons has and his ability to recruit anyone to his side with the right words. (although I'm disappointed for expecting him to say "Make Cybertron great again." ;)  :lol )

I think this is my favourite episode of the series so far. I am really loving this series but this one proves that this series has a LOT of potencial and needs more time to tell a full story. I mean, 10 minutes is fine bt...I wanted to see more! T_______T

I actually really liked this episode, aside from the usual problems. We've seen this story before, but this episode shows it in a nice accessible way for younger viewers. It's also nice to see it fully animated instead of the still-image montage thing that Prime did (that worked well-enough, but it's cool to actually see it in animation). They packed a good amount of stuff into a ten minute episode while still making it feel complete and well-put-together. Even in it's shortness it still manages to convey the message perfectly. I think this one was (mostly) a winner.

I just really, really wish the problems weren't so glaring. The good writing and nice colors of this episode highlights them even more. The voice-acting still sounds like YouTube stop-motion level. I know I've harped on that before, but I think amateur acting is a grave problem in official media. A problem that can make or break something (hence the reason I don't watch a lot of story-based stop-motions these days). A story like this needs gravitas and professionalism. Optimus' voice just comes across as laughable. It's a decent impression, but it completely lacks the sincerity, soul and emotion that Cullen understands so well. I really, really hope season 2 gets a new voice cast.

Aside from that, Bumblebee's "talk" thing at the end was ridiculous. Aside from being a bit dumb and annoying, it also kind of conflicts tonally with the ending. This episode actually could have benefited from a more downbeat or bittersweet ending, considering the rather heavy subject matter.

Gotta admit, LOVED how dark this episode got and how it showed Megatron's rise to power. Only thing is...Why did so many people back Megatron? Specifically, what was so bad about Cybertron that Megatron felt that change needed to be made? I know he said that he wanted everyone to live in a united Cybertron, but that's it! I would've loved to see them go into more detail about this..

Wait so... Megatron knows there are ways to tell things to people besides talking, right?

Hope we see more of War era Cybertron. This setting really had a nice early Samurai Jack vibe.

There is a 0% chance that Megatron let Bumblebee just go though. It's more likely he was just being a sadistic dickhead before keeping the Autobot captured, with Bee probably breaking free later.

The part where Megatron ripped Bee's voice box sounds really torturing. Are we sure this is a show for kids? I love it tho.

As torturing as when Kids are breaking their own toys?
