SR-71-ish trailer surfboard? That's bonkers! I love it.
Amazing how they can take such a dumb idea like that and make it work. This figure just keeps getting better and better.

 

Looks like it's just a few parts/accessories that make up the surfboard. Mainly the gun and the jet engines.

Still pretty cool though.

Now this puts me in my happy place. I'll buy the armor makes up the entire trailer, but the jet board seems small to have all of it in there. If it doesn't it's still a sweet attack mode. But if it does, it's officially the coolest "where does the trailer go" since FP's G3.

I hope there are some dedicated tabs for him too stand on.

I think the jet surfboard is likely just part of the trailer... And if they design the rest of the trailer well enough... The remnants are a more G1 esque base/attack mode thing.

 

Give it a Galaxy Force/Cybertron repaint/remold, and it gets ALL my nostalgia dollars.

 

That jetboard is stupid and goofy and incredibly awesome in all the right ways, and I am definitely leaning harder toward "BUY IT NOW".

 

I suspect most of the complaints are less about the quality of the application, and more about how the flames remind them of BayVerse  .
So, it's just down to subjectivity/taste, is all.

 

But if you hate the movies why would this intrest you in the first place

Like, sure, you’re right — the lore that gave us the black SR-71 turning into a trailer that turns into a jetpack was seen in a BayVerse movie.

But there is plenty of precedent for Prime getting sweet jet packs from trailer-like things:
- PowerMaster Optimus Prime with Apex Armor (G1 and Titans Return)
- TF Cybertron Optimus Prime
- TF Animated S3 Optimus Prime

And people can like figures even if they don’t like the media connected to it. I mean, almost nobody liked the Energon show.

So, if a person doesn't enjoy the BayVerse, they’re still allowed to like this.

 

pretty much, i mean Prime had 2 cool combinations in Armada and Cybertron with everybody attaching to him in armada and Jetfire doing it in cybertron, heck Omega became a battle suit for him at one point, it's always better when the trailer does more than just disappear into the background, power suit FTW

I wouldn't stress to much about the flames. PE does often make paint changes between renders and actual figures. The flames might not be there by then.

 

Plus there could very easily be a revised version of the mold with more G1 centric colors ,and possibly a new head sculpt as well, that comes out after a'la the origin version of Leonidas.
