I saw it and had a blast.
I got there just in time and I saw a bumblebee clip.
Surprisingly, they went straight into the movie at 7:05. NO Commercials which was strange but welcome
(MY local AMC has 25 min of previews/ads)

    Crowd reactions:

Starscream kicking Megs in the crotch- Laughs
    Galvy killing Starscream-Laughs
Starscream shooting the Constructicons trumpets - Laugh
Ops death- Little kid- "Mommy why is he dying?"
The Touch both times - claps
End credits - claps. I was tapping my foot lol

After the end credits, there was a 10 min featurette on Stan Bush and the origins of "The Touch" and "Dare".

This was my first time at this Veterans 24. They had leather seats which reclined which was cool.It made the $13.50 price tag worth it.

The Unicron and planets scenes and ships looked so great on the big screen.
MY theater gave free posters 16 x 18 of the recent 2016 bluray artwork.

I saw it with my wife. No poster unfortunately. The screening might've had ten people including us tops. It was great to see the movie, but before hand was slightly frustrating. The trivia thing looped around twenty times. It didn't have any music playing while it was going which made it drag.

It was still very much worth it. The Stan Bush interview after was nice. I just wish there had been more"show" before the movie. You had the usual guy from fathom events saying "The show starts now" followed by the trivia with no music and nothing else until the bumblebee thing started.

Milpitas CA viewing folks in the middle right: you don't need to talk during the entire movie. Yes, it's a fun show, but seriously, fuck off.

ps: you're the only two who clapped during the Stan Bush post-credits like a bunch of assholes.

Ha! Had a similar reaction in mine. Right after Prime dies, and the screen fades to Unicron, a baby started crying. I said, "don't feel bad kid, a bunch of us did the same thing 32 years ago". The people around me let out a good chuckle. ;) ;)

That was amazing. Just 90 solid minutes of the 80s punching you in the face

Edit: and I just went to Target next door and found a Novastar. What a great freaking day.

Unfortunately had a similar thing at my showing. Dude 2 seats over was talking through the whole movie and laughing at scenes that weren't funny. Guy behind us quoted a few scenes but that wasn't terrible, and the young kid seated beside my wife behaved far better than that grown man 2 seats down from me. The theater was super packed so I couldn't even get out of my row to go to the restroom without having to shove past a bunch of people. I unfortunately wasn't born in the G1 era but I grew up watching this movie constantly, it was my first time going to see it in theaters. Needless to say, it was honestly a huge disappointment for me.

Besides no picture during the bumblebee preview and them stopping the movie after the first gong noise because no picture and restarting it from the bumblebee preview after that it was an awesome time, Got the poster and they were giving out The last knight T-shirts, I guess they must have left overs from last year.

My theater never received the poster at all. Despite how great it was seeing the movie in theaters, I can’t help but feel a little ripped off.

    I hope you’re being sarcastic.

I have an extra poster if you're really interested. I guess you could just pay for shipping.

Yeah Daly City showing had a couple of shitty folks as well. But it's been my experience the last 2 years that civility has gone to the dogs when it comes to watching movies in cinemas.

To be honest though ...... it's a pretty crappy movie. It was fun because it's silly, but I am glad anime/cartoon movies have evolved far beyond that in almost every aspect.

The theater experience was amazing the theatre was full of fans the only complaint i have id that they screwed up at the beginning and they put incredibles 2 instead of the movie other than that it was fun

Just got back from it. Had a great time! It was everything bad about the 80s & everything awesome about the 80s all crammed into 90 minutes! It was cheesy, it was epic, it was funny, it had its dramatic moments, its serious moments, its kickass moments, and even a few derpy annoying moments.

    But it was fucking awesome!

32 years I’ve had to wait. Missed it in theaters as a kid. Never thought it would come back, but it was great to finally see it on the big screen. They even showed it in the biggest screen!

My childhood dream has finally been fulfilled. :D

I went with my brother, and it was a fun night. Out theater had it showing on three screens, we exchanged our tickets for better seats in the added showing.

Even though I’ve watched TFTM countless times since first seeing it at its original release, this was a fun nostalgic event. The Bumblebee clip was enjoyable too and the “unplugged” Stan Bush at the end was entertaining.

Good times, I’m glad I went!

My experience tonight is almost word for word like yours.

I missed it in theaters as a kid. This is my first time seeing it in theaters. It is a different experience than watching it on tv.

Altho I don’t think Bush has the touch any more. And what were people doing behind him while he was singing?
