    So, they're non-articulated and kitsch. Typical Super7.

....................................So should I be disappointed that these look like crap IMO or just focus on being happy that I don't want any of them?

They look like total garbage and wastes of money but at least the dead Optimus description is funny.

The box art and layout of the clear death Prime is supremely rad. Almost makes it worth picking up.

    Almost.

i’d Love to see a second use for the Jazz mold but I think POTP is done for. siege Titan reveal is probably more likely.

  Fantastic! IDK.. I bought a large Guyver with a comic book for around that price. Guyver 1. It came with a Japanese comic book of Guyver versus the hairy guy, and Guyver III with Super Armor.

Anyhow, as an 80s collector myself, I once bought a piece of so called "Art" when I was in my Shogun Warriors phase and was all about the Mazinger Z!! back when I was a kid with an allowance. I got this POS monstrocity and the one in the Back. on the left.
Eighteen inches tall, no articulation except the upper arms moved at the shoulder, and the hands had a cheap gimmick usually spring based weapon launchers. Hollow. I can not stress how hollow and light these things were. Cheap paint, and they rerelease them, and the price? Hell NO! The ones I owned were from Garage sales, and included the boxes for them. until me mum sold them at a garage sale when I wasn't home. Could have fetched a fortune when the nostalgia rebound hit. now they do reissues, and it's not something I would recommend to anyone. They were junk. I even thought so back then. The only thing I kept thinking was maybe that would be a collector's item, and getting your hands on the diecast smaller 10 inch versions were difficult to find in the garage sales of the mid 80s, as much of the stuff like that tended to come floppy and without the box. Tho once and while you could get lucky..

Wait for these to hit a garage sale market.. or ebay junk sale. There are good PVC works of art, and then there are ones that just don't interest me. With 35th Anniversary Prime coming out, I would much rather go that direction and get that.

I'm glad Optimus died with his plasma rifle in hand, so I can pry it off his cold, dead hand.

Those Shogun Warriors are highly collectible pieces and can be quite valuable. I'd also wager to say when they are brand new they are definitely not junk. Not from an childs perspective in the 1980s anyway. However they did make less quality versions.. Its possible you got a KO version from a garage sale, & not an actual Japanese descendant. Or maybe it was extremely used, & played with by alot ofq kids, years after the bought date. So its possible you may never have got the feel of the real toy is my point. There were also plenty of KOs being sold at that time in the US. Since it was a late 1970s to real early 1980s toyline.

Fun fact: Mazinger Z wasnt even an Shogun Warriors toy. Only Great Mazinger was made.

BUT I'm a bit confused by what the top part of what I quoted, means. Did you mean you owned a few of them (Great Mazinger, Gaiking ect.) OR just the yellow plastic one (Gaiking) ?? ....its not clear. :)

This release even more so ensures the release of a color version that only uses translucent in the chest. I actually want this toy. But hell I bought the Toyworld Primorion, EX Gokin, Soap Studios Sufubi Vinyl, DX9 Dutch, Transforming Element TE-01, down payment on the Magic Square MS-01, & if theres a preorder this year MP-45(?) 35th anniversary Optimus Primes all this year. Not including any other year.

.... This Super7 is right up my alley. I still need that 3rdParty IDW Optimus Prime by Generation Toys come to think of it. Hmmm

Actually I had both. Great Mazinger and Gaiking. They were probably KOs or just worn out.

Well to be honest. I did own one of these KO PVC Optimus Prime figures.. I somehow lost it, and have cursed myself ever since, given the mods out there that can be done for 3D printing, I would have made my own G-1 Megatron in Plastic and painted it so easily to match in terms of shiny metallic. But these were all over ebay back in the day and some shady not very trustworthy sites, where it was hit or miss when ordering, and sometimes from the same website! You took what you could get back in those wonder-lust, sad and hard to score 3P sites you could count on. Back then, I remember scouring ebay for a 3P figure, and stumble upon those shady earlier sites you all know which ones I am referring to. Black basic back ground. simple layout lines, and gifs, and shitty service, but you get KOs..cheap and not as good, not anywhere near what we get now. Now we have so much, it is like heaven. For those youngsters who just got into the hobby and love 3P, you just don't know how horrible it was back in the day.

Anyhow, I had this guy, and I remember I was surprised he was just vacuum formed Soft Plastic, basically a statue. arms could move, feet could rotate a bit, and would make loud obnoxious noise like you'd swear you were gonna break his foot off, so you would only go so far. The gun looked great tho. They had two colored versions. Both were the same color, one was just metallic. I got the metallic. Chest Detached to allow access to the Matrix, the one item I would change and make more accurate. I wish they still had those on the market.

I remember Painting the eyes. I know this thing sucks.. But it was nice to get back then, so I can definitely see the appeal of something like this, once in hand, you kinda grow to love it..
Anyone see this guy a KO as long as it has the box, let me know. Please..

There's no way to really tell now unless you have them still, no worries. Do you still like Mazinger Z &/or Great Mazinger, say in the likes of Soul of Chogokin or something more worthy of your action figure style? (Or the cartoon)

I actually just bought the SOC Mazinger DC (anime likeness molding?)

Additionally, and more on the point of this thread, the Optimus Prime pictured is the Metalforce Optimus Prime by Takara from 2002 IIRC, & has been #1 on my to get list for 15 years! :)  Costs around $150.00 - ish on average, & I am not sure I wanna spend that much. Thanks for reminding me bro lol

Love Mazinger and Great Mazinger. Of course! Lol..

Yes, that metal force is expensive, but there's a KO that was like 40.00 back in the day. Had a chest that could pop off. Had a matrix that sucked, and was cheap. But still a cool item. I want to find that again.
