hello everyone so i thought i would collect all of the g1 reprints since they were only about 30$ a book. Thats when i noticed classics volume 6 is almost impossible to find and is listed on amazon as like 300$ which seems insane. Ive seen it being sold digitally for pretty cheap so i will likely have to settle for a digital copy of this volume should i decide to buy this collection. Anyway i was wondering if anyone knows why volume 6 is so rare and cost so much

Presumably it's out of stock at the distributor level, meaning that only resellers have it and are free to jack up the prices (often based on automatic algorithms when it comes to Amazon Marketplace).

Volumes 1-5 must have either been reprinted, or had larger initial print runs.

 

It's hard to find in the UK as well. It was the last one I got hold of, earlier this year.

 

thanks that at least makes a bit of sense. I actually found a site in the U.K selling it for 75$ shipping in decided to take a chance and bought it. It seemed like a legit site so hopefully its in the new condition that it says it is in when it arrives in like a month lol. Only one i cant order from local stores now is U.S volume 2 and the last 3 U.K ones which havnt even released yet

 

I take it you don't care about buying them digitally? I think the usual price for a volume on Comixology/Amazon is eleven dollars. Since it's IDW, you can download them and use whatever reader you want.

 

ya i saw that id much rather actually have them then have them digitally sadly for my wallet lol

thanks i saw these before i think but went with IDW as there were more issues per volume. Thanks for bringing it to my attention though may need some of these should i not be able to get some of the idw ones or should idw not finish the UK series
