No body cares about Bayverse timeline or consistency because Bay doesn't care and it has no consistency.

I was initially not happy wiith dropkick and shatter, but This trailer made me change my mind about that. My biggest hope is that this will continue as a reboot Instead of a prequel. I think after the changes I am OK with Blitzwing

everyone should be able to state their opinion about the film. We should all try to keep it a little more civil.

I mean... I'm not a die-hard fanatic of G1 or anything, (grew up with Armada, fyi) but I think having just a few minutes of our childhood in a blockbuster film is a bit more significant than you do, and I really don't think having some G1-heavy cameos in a scene that probably won't even be two minutes and most likely uses assets from a cancelled movie that would've otherwise gone to waste is going to affect the creativity...

Chances are none of it can actually be attributed to Bay himself, but I think there's been plenty of creativity in the Bay movies; a Decepticon police car, a wheel-footed Autobot fully adapted to high-speed street combat, a robot with one mind controlling three bodies, two robots combining into an ice cream truck, basically any of the Constructicons, Mad Max Nascar Wreckers, and just generally designs that aren't afraid to embrace the alien aspect of Transformers. It's fine if you didn't like any of it, but I think these movies were a lot more willing to take risks than say, TFP - at least design wise.

I've had three friends text me today about the trailer, none of them transformer fans per se but all of them excited about the G1 forms. That points to a good sign, if casuals are getting into these designs then this was a good call, this franchise needs new blood and I feel like a lot of people are just sick of the Bay era, the disappointing box office receipts certainly suggest that. They need to differentiate themselves from the previous movies going forward and this is a good start. If the film is successful we'll probably see them move further in this direction, continuity be damned if this makes them money and builds the franchise back up.

In short, the hype is real now and I haven't been this excited for a Transformers movie since RotF.

You can't even spell "consistency," how can you expect to be taken seriously when advocating for it :p

I love these G1-centric designs! This movie needs to be at least a soft-reboot in tone, aesthetic and lore. The Bay movies had become unwatchable towards the end.

...all these people talking about Micheal Bay and yet no one brings up how cold Bob Budiansky is towards the franchise.

Less moving parts now, so maybe the a animation won't be as costly?

I'm sure there is a reason that Blitzwing is not Starscream other than being a triple changer. Bot mode looks spot on modern Starscream. But then again you have the seekers behind Shockwave.

Everyone thought all the deceptions d
Maybe that's the point , I actually like the fact that cybertron and the boys there have more of a g1 look , and on earth they are much more detailed like the ones from bayverse

Why does Optimus look like he has an Earth based alt-mode on Cybertron?... Why?!

If that footage had come from a game or a cartoon I wouldn't have had problems with it, in fact, I would have thought "it looks so cool!!!" but in a movie that’s supposed to be "realistic"... Come on!!! Are people so blinded by the nostalgia?! :(

Amen! Geewunners are taking over :(
