Finally got my Lost Planet stuff from HZJ401, I've been playing with them constantly since I got them yesterday afternoon and have done some minor custom paint detailing.

 

My diabattles just arrived. I'm going to echo the two common sentiments I've seen in this thread from people buying their first pieces from this line:

1) Holy crap, they're TINY!
2) But... they're so fun to play with it's worth it!

Very impressed.

I had one dumb question - how do the pilots fit into the mech suit with the seat folded down? I fiddled with it for a few minutes, but with the seat down his legs didn't quite seem to fit.

 

For this 'mode' lol

 

...you'd think this level of mech tech would boast A.I. ....

These don't seem quite worth it with the SAT 3-pack out.

 

Did thru come with pilots?

 

No pilots with those or the SAT pack. The e-monster designs have no clear windows though, so it's not too bad.

 

It does, that's why some of the suits are pilotless

You know, I was pretty sold on the new SAT 3 pack, just because it was 3 mechs and accessories for $30. But the paint scheme - especially the english lettering, didn't really gel with me. I think I'll be getting the 2 recolored figures instead. They look better, to me.

 

I have another dumb question about DA-01 - I tried searching through this thread and the originals thread, and didn't see an answer...

Is there an easy way to remove the legs? Right now I'm pretty much grabbing it and pulling as hard as I can to disconnect the leg pieces from the hips. I feel like I'm breaking it every time. Is there a trick to releasing the legs?

 

The part that looks like a claws, where it connects to the thigh/hip, two of those 'fingers' move. If you pull those outward a bit, as you pull down on the leg itself, it should detach easier.

 

Now, I like the Neo Zeon custom from e.monster, but a Gundam Blue Destiny, or even a Wing Zero and Epyon, would be pretty wild.

I second that emotion!  

 

This potentially opens up a new path with regard to storytelling.

You know....it would be fun to put together some community fiction for the MFT product (related to Diaclone or not). Not specific characters but specific events/situations and tech that explains the different suit recolours and armament. For example where does the SAT set fit in a wider universe that may include Waruder aliens? Where do pilotless mech suits fit in? Are criminals or black market sellers retrofitting previously scrapped / damaged mech suits and reselling them even during a time of planet wide war?

I believe this is how Games Workshop put together their Codexes / fiction in the early days...community (player) contributions.

 

I tried using those claw things on mine but it was impossible for my huge fat fingers.

A friend told me the way he does it and it works like a charm and doesn't feel like I'm breaking it.

Put a finger behind the joint and push back. This will rock the upper thigh out of the lower leg, using the finger on the back of the joint as a fulcrum.

 

Someone that is a genius must have given you that advice!

 

The SAT Project was devised to:

1) Trial the use of new weaponry and mech suit technology with advanced A.I. allowing pilotless operation (SAT01&02).

2) Trial the retrofitting of this new A.I. into existing mech suits (SAT03).

Once successful, the SAT project would become:

3) A highly mobile homeworld Quick Reaction Force (QRF) to counter domestic (terrorist) and alien (Waruder) threats.

4) Military SAT (MS) QRF, but with a higher level of armament (eg: missile launchers built into the shoulder boosters).
