I just watched the first 3 episodes and... oh my god the voice-acting is f**cking terrible

Bumblebee's actual voice is good, and that's about it. Windblade is fine until she has to be emotional (the 'scream' at the beginning of this episode was bad), but I do like the exchange in the previous episode where she explains her cityspeaker stuff to 'bee as "telepathy and stuff"; that was a pretty great delivery.

Optimus... oh man, Optimus. I was fine with how he sounded; it's a decent Cullen impression. But he's so stilted it sounds like it's coming from a soundboard. Megatron sounds like a Game of Thrones character.

And the writing isn't doing the voice-work any favors. I just want to point out one specific exchange in the flashback.

    Megatron: "Where's your 'destiny' now?"
    Optimus: "...NEVER!"

One, that makes no goddamn sense, and two, MEGATRON was the one telling Optimus to accept his 'destiny' so what the hell is he talking about?

It's a shame they went with non-union talent, which I assume they won't even pay, because this show is actually beautifully animated. It's fantastic to look at... just not to hear.

I've just noticed animation error of Prime's mouthplate. Before the first scene here, he had a closed mouthplate. On the next scene, he had it opened, and closed again in the following scene.

This. Except Windblade. She sounds like a first-time voice actor with no previous acting experience. Optimus's voice actor sounds like an Optimus impersonator, not Optimus. It would be nice if the actor did his own thing. He is trying too hard to be Peter Cullen, and its just not doing it for me.
I don't know what people are finding so appealing about this show. It's cheap in every way. Animation to a degree, dialogue, and casting. The only thing it has going for it is that we may finally have a show with a stronger focus on what actually happened during the war on Cybertron, but everything else makes it unbearable.

I enjoyed the Jason Statham/Vinnie Jones Megatron. Oi, you, gimme the effing Allspark or I'll sort you aht!

Bumblebee's exposition of isn't all this transformers canon just ridiculous was pretty good too. We've been fighting for thousands of years.... because we don't like each other very much. Classic.

When Windblade is just *talking*, she sounds fine. I found the "telepathy and stuff" to actually be pretty cute.

I feel like Starscream's voice also falls under the "impersonator" thing too. Also, I didn't know the one talking to 'bee on the radio was supposed to be Grimlock. Because that was just the worst of them all. A lot of the voice actors seem to be fairly unknown? Megatron's VA worked on some 4Kids shows (the one that stands out there is he voice Chazz from Yu-Gi-Oh GX who possibly had the goofiest voice) & Soundwave's VA did some TeamFourStar stuff.

The animation is at least pretty smooth; I found Windblade's fight with Thundercracker to be well done. But everything else just feels so half-baked. The first episode should have been 22 minutes, not 10; they rushed through so much.

I get that TF: Prime was super expensive to make, but it doesn't mean you start penny-pinching now

Another okay episode. Not sure I like what's happening with Megatron's accent, but seeing Soundwave and the bit about the Allspark being launched was neat. It's hard to describe these episodes, and the show is structured in a much different way than most, but I'm still more or less engaged by it because its a whole new continuity and we're being given little glimpses into it.

I'm glad that this series is more focused on storytelling than RID was. I didn't mind the slice of life stuff, but it always felt like the most interesting, important stuff going on in the RID universe was happening off camera.

I had to knock a few points off my score for this episode simply because it had one of the worst choreographed fight scenes I've seen in a long time. Seriously, Optimus and Bumblebee have quite a lengthy conversation about their plans completely out in the open with Megatron and a bunch of Decepticons standing just off-screen. And for whatever reason, there was no attempt to attack Bee or OP during that whole conversation. There was no sense of threat or scale in that scene.

The rest of the episode was fine, good even, but I hope future battle scenes are done much better.

I strongly agree on the bad fighting choreography. It's too discontinuous. Also, the fight scene looks really stiff, not the animation itself but direction. Like, Windblade shows up with her blade comically, she knocks Starscream out in just two hits, then low kick him, fell off the bridge, just so he can fly up again and not showing up anymore. Megatron told Decepticons to focus fire on them but no one attacked them except Starscream. In addition, Shadow Strike made a full on-screen debut for merely seconds, with no appeal traits or whatsoever interesting quality, then got knocked out by Windblade. These look kinda dumb but I'm not really expecting a great fight scene from Boulder Media Studios. I love the Autobots in the series though. I hope next episodes would focus more on 'Cons.

Yeah, should definitely focus more on cons. Like Thundercracker and Nova storm are really cool and I hope to see them soon again. Maybe even episodes about them. Some cons are pretty cool. Not really liking the Autobots so far.

    "Allsparkles?"

It's kind of funny how Thundercracker and Grimlock in their debut episodes just grunt and scream. Character establishing moments huh.

    Wow that was...extensively not good.

Story progression was flat. The world of this show does not feel like a fully fleshed out environment, but a "checklist" of popular Transformers tropes. Practically everything we've seen so far is just things lifted from other Transformers media. I think Shadow Striker is the first and so far only completely new thing this show has brought us. I don't feel like this universe is any different from G1 or even Prime.

Voice acting, as brought up previously, is very bad. Windblade's actress is very poor at emoting, Optimus has the exact same problem as Jon Bailey's Optimus Prime voice in that it sounds way too much like someone impersonating Peter Cullen doing Optimus than a unique take on the character, Starscream sounds like a Steve Blum/Sam Reigel impression, and Megatron's Cockney/Australian/Whatever accent is really atrocious. Bumblebee's voice is fine for what it is, Soundwave was way too garbled to understand, and Shadow Striker said a single word so there's nothing to really to go off of.

I understand that this is a show for the 6-10 year olds, but man I still think this is way too stale so far. RID, despite being, you know, bad, was at the very least something new and fresh with its own world that felt like it actually existed outside of CGI fight scenes. Everything I've seen from Cyberverse so far just leads me to believe that the cartoon-world of the Transformers is stagnating. I feel like the creators of the show relied too much on popular and familiar themes and didn't really try to take any risks or try a different interpretation of some of these characters. I don't know, we're only three episodes in so maybe things get better latter on, but as of right now, Cyberverse is not looking too good.

Cyberverse's purpose seems to be kinda soft-reboot of G1 or reintroducing it to the newer generation. I wholeheartedly agree with you on Hasbro playing too safe. G1 has been running for TOO LONG that it's becoming more stale. This particular show doesn't introduce much new stuffs aside from a rehash of old characters. It's not fresh, just a checklist of TF tropes.

Add me to the list of people that felt the voices and how they were acted was kinda bad. Optimus sounds like a stilted Cullen impersonator and Megatron sounds like a Cockney pirate Wreck-Gar in desperate need of a poop. It's all very distracting.
