My current works-in-progress. Used the SS Lockdown figure and SS Shadow Raider with the helmet/visor. Also ordered the Fakebusker 3D printed spark extractor. Both are currently being repainted. Cut away the back packs/kibble on both, as well as the paneling on the forearms. Also added new hands to the one with the helmet:

I cut it off where it attached to the "tailbone" area. I'm not worried about have him in an alt-mode -- just wanted a more accurate robot mode. I have some filler pieces at the moment in his back/spine. I picked up the Shadow Raider on ebay ($19.99 shipped) from a US seller last week.
Try your local Target stores and Hasbrotoyshop.com, as both are likely to have him in stock for the retail of $20 buckaroos. ...Actually, I just checked HTS and you can get him here for $20 right now. As for the custom, I REALLY like the way the forearms look on the non-masked one. Makes me wonder if I could whip up something similar but somehow have it still transform. Well done, dude!
Thanks LZ! I added some bulk to the shoulder areas on both figures where the gaps are, using folded strips of poster board:
Modded the helmet for now, putting masking tape as a temporary piece until I cut and fit a piece of poster board on the top part of the visor. The Shadow Raider visor was larger than it should be, so wanted to make it more accurate:
