Honestly, if it were compatible with CW Magnus and TR Prime, that'd be sick. Yes, I keep repeating it. But I want it to be true.

don’t usually go for the third party scene, but wow! this is really cool! I’m all in on this one! definitely agree with the hope for more movieverse designs re-imagined in this G1 updated look. this design has already replaced the ‘real’ movie version in my mind! :)

It's not really a remold. Everything from the waist down on the base optimus seems entirely new, the outer forearms are different, new hands, new upper shoulder parts, new chest, new head. They've retained about 25-30% of the original jinrai toy design it looks like. But this one also seems like it'll be a bigger toy as well so its not even re-using the actual physical parts of the old toy just the 3d cad data of some segments of them.

It's such a strange project in so many respects. It's part g1 part movie, it's partly handled like a ko of their own work, yet it has ties to being a replacement torso for a hasbro ginrai toy that itself was a retool of an ultra magnus toy. Fucking weirdest thing and I love it. haha

*slaps the Perfect Effect DX-10 Jetpower Revive on the roof*
You can buy the hell out of so many of this bad boy at Big Bad Toy Store it isn't even remotely funny.

    ...what?

Not really; the original PC-16 Jinrai is already a Voyager (16 cm) so nothing indicates they've upsized the cab, though the legs are longer and bulkier so it will stand slightly taller (it's only 24cm in combined mode, slightly taller than TR PM Prime in super mode).

It'd kill the charm if suddenly it's out of scale with Combiner Wars Magnus and Titans Return PM Prime in vehicle mode.

Isn't the pc-16 jinrai meant to go with the Hasbro pm prime as an upgrade?

I highly doubt PE is making this version of their pm prime with any sort of backwards compatibility in mind...

I'm liking the design, but I'll hold out for a black/nemesis repaint.

So basically, it's the new "Evergreen" design, mixed with the Bayformer look, and with an almost pure G1 alt-mode.

I am surprisingly okay with all of that. Makes me wonder if he's gonna be a one time only experiment, to re-use the PE Prime cab mold or engineering again, or if there's gonna be more 'bots like these afterwards.

It wouldn't surprise me* if they make it backwards compatible in the sense that it uses the same trailer hitch**. Full backwards compatibility would require that Revive (is that the name of the base figure?) can fold around and fit in the UM/PMOP cavity (the extra leg length wouldn't affect the fit, so that's probably fine), but it'd need to have a swivel on the back and an extra combined mode head. So I mostly agree with you, but I think it may be possible you can mix and match cabs if you display them in alt-mode.

*That's not to say I think it's likely

**Or doing like the G3 trailer from FansProject where is has a trailer hitch on the back to tow a second trailer

I don't know what you mean by "always-on Parallax armor", but I do know that the G3 Trailer was designed to haul the City Commander/D.I.A.Clone Commander trailer behind it. It had a little flip out piece that the Commander trailer attached to.
    Sometimes.

Hmmm.. Guess I'm going to have to paint over the "Bay" red flames that show up in robot mode.
    Hopefully those panels are removable.

It looks nice. But I can only see a Prime collector buying this for a shelf full of primes.
