I saw "James Roberts Returning" and I thought it would be for a post-Unicron comic and then it wasn't and I did a sad.

I'd be down for that if, and only if, it was a 50 page comic of Swerve floating around in empty space tying up all the loose ends but TWIST ENDING he wakes up and it turns out Swerve is in real life a materials scientist that looks suspiciously like Patton Oswalt working at Louis-Lait Heavy Industries. Turns out his friend Charlotte (nickname: Lottie) is waking him up because the alloy rods he's been waiting to work on just arrived in a storage container ("the Rod Pod").

Then they're all hit by a bus driven by baby Tailgate when they get out to the parking lot.

Wow. His first con appearance after the finale, right? First con appearance after he no longer needs to worry about spoiling future issues?

The Q&A should be very interesting then...

It'll definitely be interesting to see where he wanted to actually go with everything. I may not be his biggest fan right now, but even i recognize that he breathed new life into the franchise and introduced new ideas and concepts that I found fun and interesting. He also got me to like Swerve (even if he basically took Bluestreak's one defining character trait in his Budiansky profile), which is awesome because he was basically nothing before IDW.

Didn\'t really like the way he does things. Seems he really didn\'t like Decepticons from the way he wrote things. Would have liked to see a comic for people who like Decepticons more. Maybe after the reset :/

Funny you say that. Decepticons generally have defective personalities and/or mental illnesses as defining characteristics in their old G1 bios. James Roberts is known for effectively infusing his characters with those things. It really does seem like he avoids being forced to deal with the prior dictates of others, so maybe it's not that he dislikes Decepticons, but that he didn't want to be held to whatever problems prior authors decided individual Decepticons had.

I’ve always had mixed feelings about Josh Burcham’s colours in the Optimus Prime issues but I will admit it has grown on me over time, although I definitely preferred Andrew Griffith as the regular artist.
