To be fair. All the other Springers looks like ass.

Spoken like a true FT acolyte. None of the Springers are any better or worse than any other. I personally am waiting for XTB Virtus, but the differences between any of them are incremental. None of them have got it 100% right, but none are that far off the mark, either.

I agree, but Apache really didn’t have the main competition in Xtb and ocular max to deal with. Both UT and Open and play both aren’t really MPs. Allen is a good toy, but he’s not a definitive MP Springer option if you want toon accuracy. Same with big spring.

We need to get some news on this guy and Blitzwing....it really is absurd at this point that we've got nothing on them....

Even tho UT Allen most people wouldn't consider him MP'ish enough I have to agree the tiniest bit,he's not suited for an MP (or even a CHUG) Collection,BUT as for a stand alone figure he is an excellent figure, especially if you got him at BBTS's clearance price of $60.So in closing I would say get him just for his playability and not for MP Style.

We got a response about Blitzwing. He is undergoing a full redesign.

Must be the same going on with Trailbreaker here too. I just wish they would focus on stuff they revealed they were doing years back instead of popping out entire new molds....this is LITERALLY my only gripe about Fanstoys at this point.

I have a feeling that they backed off of Trailbreaker because the market most likely couldn't support a 4th one in 2017-2018. I am glad that they decided to improve Blitzwing. There are already 2 lackluster ones available; might as well get it right.

How do you propose to substantiate that claim?
Simply by virtue of them each being different, they will inherently have aspects that are better or worse than one another.

Agreed, I know they'll get him right. That's actually good news about Blitzwing. Trailbreaker, however...Fanstoys knows they have a following. They know we'll buy whatever they put out regardless of how many other companies have a product of the same character. Especially now with the Stunticons. There are 3 other companies doing their own. No excuse why they can't give us a Trailbreaker.

If the market won't support another 3P Trailbreaker, they would have no motivation to invest capital (ie spend a whole lot of money) on something where they would be lucky to break even, vice figures such as Dracula, where they can make a quality product that people ware buying in droves.

Let’s be a little more realistic. There are maybe 10 Springers, but only 3 of those are good.

I am going to take some guesses as to why they have postponed Outrider for so long.

    (1) They are improving the design. The design is now two years old and could use some improvements. The vehicle mode has noticeable gap on the side where the panels fold up. It just ruins an otherwise solid looking vehicle mode.
    (2) They are working on a design for Hoist so both can be released around the same time.
    (3) Due to the push towards toon aesthetics, Hoist will be more than a simple retool containing more original parts. This will result in the most toon accurate Hoist we have seen with a different transformation than Outrider.
    (4) They missed the window when the other 3p companies launched theirs, so they are making up for it be launching other characters instead.
    (5) They are waiting to see if Takara announces their version. Since Takara have thrown out a few wild cards we never saw coming such as Prime v.3, Hound, and before that Sunstreaker.
    (6) They are re-releasing some of their best selling bots, such as the Dinobots. Easy money. No guarantee on Outrider being a hit, but they know which of their releases are the most popular. This also gives new collectors a chance to own the characters they missed out on.
    (7) They have a lot of new releases on the way. Hotrod, Blurr, the Aerial bots (their first attempt at a combiner), and many others. These new projects require attention, and going back to work on Outrider would take away from their progress.
    (8) They have a set number factories to use. Between new releases and re-releases they would not be able to produce TB and Hoist even if they were finished.

So many variables the list could go on. As much as I would like to see this get made, I am more excited about their future releases. Trailbreaker is more of a background character anyway. If this project does continue, I hope FT will put a bigger emphasis on Hoist as he has more screen time and more presence in the comics. Hoist is a more fun and interesting character. The other offerings haven't nailed Hoist, though their efforts are commendable. Hoist is also the much needed counterpart to Grapple. Grapple being one of the best MP's takara has made, needs an equally good Hoist to compliment it.

    Hi all,

Long time lurker, first time poster... thought I should share some news on this. Sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings, but this toy isn't happening.

I contacted FansToys directly. They were very friendly and helpful, but did confirm that they no longer have any plans to release this toy and advised me to seek a refund for my pre-order.

Back to MMC or OTS I guess...

*shrugs* I dunno about that, but I emailed them on their public address and they said it's been 'indefinitely delayed' - i.e. they have no longer have any plans for when/if to release it - and to seek a refund for the pre-order.

They don't seem to update their FB page so I'm not sure what kind of official response they can give. Apparently they've told their retailers.

I should note - I only have it from the folks I pre-ordered with that FansToys have updated their retailers, I didn't get that from FansToys themselves.

Though the folks I pre-ordered with are refusing to consider this a cancellation and are trying to stiff me my money.

say what.. The people who are refusing to refund you are the same people who told you FansToys advised them to refund customers. Genius. Absolute gold.

hmm in one post you say you emailed FansToys and they responded, and the next post you're saying you didn't get info from FansToys. Which is it? What's not making sense here hmm

No, they only told me - two days after saying their retailers had had no updates - that their retailers were now confirming the product as delayed.

FansToys themselves, incidentally, apparently don't take pre-order money - only retailers do this.
