But since when do we censor bs here if rumor stops at the wise? Be it random speculation or crazy dream, those things are one penny a dozen on this forum since the announce of the reboot and they never pass the crisis PR threshold of IDW.

I think the finale is pretty much right up there with what I've come to expect from Roberts.

For those who are not following the thread in the News section.

 

Okay, so the spoilers have been confirmed as fake? That's good. While I didn't necessarily hate the 'spoilers' I was a tad disappointed with them.

 

The spoilers for LL #23, OP #23 and Unicron #4 are real, and will be available for purchase tomorrow. Anything after that is not real.

 

Anyway, ignoring the spoilers/not spoilers, I think it's a little late in the Unicron mini to suddenly have Functionalist Universe Primus/Cybertron show up and fight. Just an awful lot of back story and what not needed to make that happen. It'd be pretty unsatisfying to have something not lampshaded in the first half of the mini just randomly happen like that.

Of course, the precedent is there with All Hail Megatron, so I cold be completely wrong.  

 

Underwhelming conclusions are the Roberts forte! Or the cop out ending. If the series ends with another quantum duplicate where one crew dies in the Unicron stuff and yet another sails off into the sunset happy and having adventures I would not be surprised. He chickens out of killing characters off a lot or brings them back... If he does that it will be a complete wet fart of an ending... Now that I have typed it I feel like I have tempted fate!

 

I'm guessing Lost Light will probably wrap up its own story mostly on its own, but I'm REALLY hoping for something like this for the final issue:

Rodimus: "Well, I guess this quest is technically over now. Everyone ready to head back home?"

(goes to where Cybertron should be)

Rodimus: "WHAT THE (every Cybertronian curse word ever) HAPPENED HERE!?!"

 

MTME will end on its own with maybe a cameo in the event. Unicron event is post TAAO/OP/Hasbroverse thing.

 

Come to think of it, this is the first series where a giant planet-bot fight could ACTUALLY happen!
-G1 movie, Primus did not exist yet, Furman invented him later.
-G1 Marvel: Primus divided his powers among his children, so he had no powers or robot form
-Armada toon: no mention of Primus as far as I know
-Energon toon: Primus was just a glorified Vector Sigma. (The hungarian dub called him The Spark!)
-Cybertron toon: Primus finally transformed... But Unicron was already dead. Bummer.
-Armada-Energon comics: all signs pointed at this happening after the comic transitioned to Cybertron... Then Dreamwave went belly up. Double bummer.
-Prime/RID: Unicron IS Earth and they only put him back to sleep, and Megatronus confirmed Cybertron is Primus... But this continuity is likely over without any planet god battle

So it could happen- but knowing IDW it won't. All their doomsday events were lackluster, even Furman's final storyline (truncated as it was). So I suspect the spoilers, even if fake, are close to what will happen.
