It's time to ask the age old Question. Is Frenzy red, or blue? And is Rumble red or blue?

PLEASE BE RESPECTFUL OF OTHERS OF OPINIONS.

For me, it's FIRRIB just because the US G1 cartoons are where I got my knowledge of G1.

Rumble is blue (purple) in the US cartoon. That’s pretty much it.

The JPN dub, the US toys (original source) JPN Toys, the comics, etc. have all made Rumble the red one.

So if we talk about the US cartoon, I absolutely agree that Rumble is the bluish one. But if we talk about anything else (especially toys), then he’s the red one. It’s really not a diffficult concept.

On your shelf he can be whatever you want to call him. The problem is that some people try to force their opinions on other people instead of just looking at the facts.

Rumble is a more mellow name, so blue. Frenzy is edgier sounding so he gets the hot colors.

 

  So I’m a 90s kid. G1 has had very little impact on me, and the only canon I’ve experienced from it is the cartoon. Thus, clearly Rumble is blue and Frenzy hardly matters as he’s barely an afterthought. In fact, Rumble, Ravage and Laserbeak are the only cassettes I really care about. There ya go.

 

This debate is something that’s always surprised me. Given how big ‘cartoon accuracy’ is in this fandom, it seems like FIRRIB would be the default position, since that is ‘cartoon accurate’ to the G1 show. Yet, it’s one of the few instances where ‘toy accurate’ appears to trump the cartoon for a lot of people.

Personally, I prefer FIRRIB for the reason that Frenzy’s name and personality fit with a red color scheme better (IMO) and that defaults Rumble to the blue guy.

 

How about "it varies by continuity, which honestly is a concept Transformers fans, of all people, should be able to get their heads around at this point."

There's like a dozen separate Megatrons, but "sometimes that guy's blue" launches a thousand flame wars.

Here we go again. I look at it this way; cartoon Rumble is blue. Toy Rumble is red. It really doesn't matter to me.

 

Why, Frenzy is red, of course. *smirk*

 

Call them whatever you want, at the end it's just cartoons and toys.

The bolded part is why I consider whichever color I own to be Rumble. Red Honda Alternator? Rumble. Blue TF Prime coupe? Also Rumble. The only mold I consider Frenzy, while only owning 1, is the little dude who lives inside Movie Barricade.

If I do have the same mold in both colors, I demote the blue one to Frenzy. The G1 cartoon is enough of a mess that when it disagrees with another canon, such as the toyline, I count that as a point in the other canon's favor.

 

Every where but the American Cartoon Rumble is red so my vote goes to RIRFISB. Now I wait for the thread to get locked...  Cause there is all ways that someone that can't handle them selves.
