With a careful analysis of the photos available, I discovered the details of the transformations of the two Megatron DOTM prototypes of TF Dream Factory... my conclusions are as follows: the first prototype was discarded because in robot mode, the entire structure of the torso is not in line with the design of the CGI of the film... but in its favor I can say that a transformation much more interesting, because it is including the entire truck! Instead, the second prototype in robot mode has a design much more in line with the CGI of the film, this because the designers DF have eliminated from the transformation a "cumbersome structure"... the cistern (made only as an add-on for the truck), in this way they had more design freedom for the robot.

I'm so unhappy that they canned their original design, the new one with the removable tank just doesn't carry the same mass in robot mode as the original like he had in the movie

I just want to see it with the tank removed so we can see what's underneath. I fear its just going to expose robot parts. Also, I want to see how it scales with MPM Prime in a picture that isn't on an angle.

Same. I'd wish for it to at least do something like turn into a fusion cannon, like the toy's does. I don't think that's too much to ask. Anything but just a block that needs to be removed.

 

So, they removed the tanker part and only the cab transforms?
