The new Transform Dream Wave TCW-06 just arrived. Really love that it comes with two sets of weapons. One set is painted and the other just plain black. I suppose fans can paint this extra set any color they desire. Now the individual Dinobot robot mode has their proper accessories. Currently haven't use the combiner pieces for Volcanicus yet. When time allow, will post pictures of Volcanicus with upgrade parts.

This is sort of the picture I was waiting for.

 

I just sanded off the "stopper" edge on the skirts hip flaps so they can rotate outward and allow normal hip movement. They can still tab onto the thighs, but won't restrict the hips if left untabbed. I like the volume the skirt adds to the figure, but designing it to restrict hip movement was kinda dumb.

 

just got mine too. and i inserted the foot to slag and cracked slags slot. so if you haven’t put the hands and feet i think should try it slowly first and not forcing it just like i did. now i’m gonna have to sand all of the hands and feet pegs just not to crack all of the dinobots.

 

Question, instead of the sanding method, what about the use of
Traxxas 1667 30wt Silicone Shock Oil ? Anybody try using Silicone oil instead of sanding down method yet?

Could you post pics of where you sanded. That's actually a great idea. Putting that skirt on felt like it was going to break any second

Anyone here who has gotten both this set and PC-23, and aren't using the TCW Volcanius sword and chest piece be willing to sell them?

 

I wrote my experience with both kits on cybertron.ca. Unfortunately I've had frustrations with them both.

At TFCon Toronto 2018 I bought the Perfect Effect PC-21 Volcanicus upgrade kit. The kit cost 50$. I actually wanted the TCW Dreamwave kit which had many more parts but it wasn't available yet. So I picked it up. Got back home and installed it. Not bad, I thought. The feet was a little stiff to put on but I didn't think it was a problem. Later on I find out that when I put the feet on I actually cracked the connection port on Sludge and Slug because the PE feet pegs are too big. I was not happy.

So this week I made some money selling TFs and thought I'd splurge on finally getting the TCW-06 Dreamwave kit. I loved their Superion kit. Bought it for 85$ with 15$ shipping from Mad Haus Toys. Shipping was pretty fast. When I got the kit I couldn't believe how many parts there were inside, plus an extra set of swords and guns molded in black. So much value! Unfortunately once I started adding the parts to Volcanicus I had a really hard time. I really struggled with getting the front chest plate to click in properly and the butt plate I felt was almost impossible to install. I got really frustrated. Then I see that the pegs on the hands are too big for the ports on Swoop and Snarl. I mean come on. I can't install them without feeling like I'm going to crack another set of ports. And now, since Sludge and Slug's ports are severely weakened, the feet don't hold well at all and Volcanicus just topples over. Plus the feet don't hold together well like the Superion kit and don't lay flat, which adds to the imbalance. I've tested the feet with other combiners and it feels like the ports are too big as well. I can't install them without feeling I have to force it.

Then I messed around with the smaller accessories. Swords and guns fit in hands okay, but Swoop’s missile pods don’t fit at all in the slots on the wings. The tabs are too big.

I’ll have to spend some time to fix what I can with sanding but it kinda feels like I've wasted my money. 150$ and I've got broken Transformers and kits that don't work right. I've really soured on the whole thing.

 

its an easy fix i used the wing extenders from nonnef for swoop and used the holes works very well

 

Any recommendations for sandpaper?

 

Swoop would never have been able to hold the sword like that, but my Sludge is actually pretty tight. Still, I decided to use the Tamashii stage parts anyways since I'm going to be displaying him for awhile in this pose.

A ton. Don't even attempt these without sanding them down first. Even then, I had a little bit of stress marks on Sludge's combiner port.

Yep. PE Grimlock upgrades, crotch parts, and back plate. TDW chest filler, hands, feet, thigh guards, and swords.

I used 700 grit and it worked perfectly. If you care about the dull, unfinished look of the plastic, finish it with 1000 grit to polish it back up. I'm going to be using them as hands and feet only, so I don't mind what the port plugs look like.

So... any shots of Dino mode and bot mode armoured up rather than combined as Volcanicus?

 

Can anyone peg the swords into the legs/arms with the side pegs? None my pegs are tight enough to store the swords in dino mode. I may have to apply a few coats of paint and Future.

 

same. my weapons are too loose but the hands/feet are too tight, and the swoop missiles just wont go in so i gave up and drilled two holes in the 5mm peg and put it on the titanmaster pegs

 

Can someone post a size comparison pic of Hercules {Devastator} and Feral Rex {Predaking} and both sets combined with Volcanicus?
