Some articles stated that Tony Todd was going to be in dotm as a nest soldier but this turned out to be false. Could be the same with Martin Short articles says he is staring but he might not be in the movie at all.
Some trivia the same thing happen with Anthony Anderson voicing Jolt, and James Avery as Sliverbolt, or Bill Fagerbakke playing Topspin. Also according to rumors, it might be the same thing happening with Barricade and his actor.

 

When they do Temp-voice, they didn't hired the actor yet, they are looking for actors at that time. But they need the lines to show the cut to producers and such. So a guy at the sound studio use his own voice as temp voice and just uses effects. That was the case with Bee in TLK. A guy at the sound studio, Erik Aadhal recorded his own voice as temp voice, but it was left there for the final cut

Don’t think they’d recast Welker as Soundwave. If any of those, David will most definitely be Shockwave.

 

Really hope this means Shockwave will actually have a speaking role in a movie! Hoping for Frank Welker and Dwayne Johnson to be announced next...

Welker isn't said to be apart of the film but he probably doesn't use social media. Charile alder said he had no role in the movie.

Hey I know that every other week someone says "Oh damn that means we're getting a trailer!" But this sounds like we're getting a trailer very soon, and the only reason he's saying this is because whoever he is voicing shows up in the trailer with a line by him.
Either that we're getting a new poster with his character on it?

 

More likely a trailer. You wouldn't recognize his voice in a poster lol   Probably this line will be featured: “Did you think you could hide?”

 

I think we all knew this would happen anyway I'm so excited I loved him as shockwave from tfp

 

On side note, even if that was Starscream I can't picture David Sobolov doing a Starscream voice anyway. Most of his voice work is for characters like Gorilla Grodd, Lobo or Drax, which are basically characters with deep voices.

 

I kind of find it funny that the guy who voiced Shockwave once is voicing Bliztwing. Since Shockwave was going to be Blizwing in DOTM.

Shockwave was always going to be Shockwave, they just used different names during production to stop them from leaking out (or, in the case of original characters like the Wreckers and the Dreads, they just hadn't been finalized yet). Sentinel Prime was Ultra Magnus, Soundwave was Breakdown, Roadbuster was Warpath, Dino / Mirage was Rush etc.

But yeah, even so, it's still amusing.

Is anyone besides me surprised to get a Transformers voice actor in a movie who isn't Peter Cullen or Frank Walker? They seem to fill most of the roles with celebrities rather than actual voice actors and I do believe this is the first who has been in Transformers before.

Well Tom Kenny has been in the films and Transformers Animated though that's fairly recent compared to this guy.

And the guy who voiced the Fallen in the movie also did a voice for TFP but he was in the films first so not a returning voice actor.
