anyone have any thoughts on Universe Cheetor (tall lanky one) and Dinobot (US colors - not Henkei)?

any thoughts would be appreciated - are they good/fun? how's the transformation?

 

Cheetor has a GIANT hump on his back. I don't own it but the first thing you should do is find a pic from the side and figure out if you can live with it

i used to have them and honestly, i enjoyed them for what they were. dinobot was the better of the two by far, but they are from a chug era that was very different from the current one. they werent trying to be terribly show accurate and so the designs and transformations have a bit of uniqueness to them

 

Universe Cheetor isn't the best. Despite all the warnings I had I still picked it up. And sold it, And picked it up again. Just to have it.
Dinobot, is a little on the short side and has almost non-existent knees, but I always thought he was the more fun of the two. And besides, he's the shattered glass deco, what's not to dig about that?

 

cool! thanks guys. I'm pretty open-minded about tfs that are "bad". I mean Hot Shot and Retrax are some of my favorites... So I may pick both of these up and give them a whirl. Really I like the Henkei Dinobot deco better... but not enough to sink that much money into it.

 

I still can’t believe I have both Universe Cheetor and his chromed Henkei release. The Henkei was going for so cheap at the time, I just had to buy it. They’re both in a storage bin somewhere too which says a bit about what I think of the figures. The mold is ok for what it is, but some of it’s design and engineering flaws make it far from a good representation of Cheetor.

I love Dinobot though. Have both the Universe and Henkei of him as well which I keep on display. The Henkei, my reborn Dinobot, is with my legion of Dinobots, and the Universe one, which is a clone, moves around my Cons. The mold seems to get some hate sometimes for the differences from the original mold/designs, but I like him for those differences. I guess that’s mainly due to how the mold exists in my collection.

 

Coincidentally, I decided to replace my TM Primal with this version. So if anyone's interested, I'm selling my TM Primal for $35 shipped to the US.

 

Hey guys, it seems like now masterpiece Dinobot has totally sold out. There are no pre orders up. Does that mean that takara spent a lot on this unique mold and now theyre good? They don't plan on making more? I just wondered, shocked at how theyre totally unavailable..

 

Yeah, not re-releasing Dinobot does not make any sense. At least, it should have the wider Asia release that it never had. I just hope that the rerelease won't have the issues that plagued the first release.

Hmm, $150. Last year, I sold Hellscream AND Thrustor to @IceConvoy for $140 shipped, and I ain't even mad.

You can typically find cyberbeasts for good deals on Yahoo Japan auctions.
Just grabbed a Survive, Maxbee, and Archadis for like $50 before shipping for a friend .

What issues did it have..? There are a few reviews on TFsource and they're all positive..

 

Some people had problems with the shoulder ratchets. You'll get more info from the "News" forum thread.

 

Google Chrome should do all the translating for you.
But you'll find the transformers category which is typically under super robot or something like that, and under transformers are various subcategories and you'll find Beast Wars. I usually just search through all of them to see if there's something worth picking up. Got "show accurate" Rattrap for like $30 shipped.
You'll have to go through a buying agent. They recommend and promote Buyee which is what I use but they are HEAVY on the fees. There are others out there that are better to use but for ease of access that's what I use.
