It had a short release on fp storefront, but was limited due to needing stock for TFCON Chi, sure I would think one of the vendors would have a deal in place to clean out stock from the conf. My best bet would be TheChosenPrime would put in the best bid for remaining stock for a 10 - 20 dollar markup on their website after the con. I speculate however that this is all guesswork.
I stand corrected, daim... http://www.actionrobo.com/index/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=1221
Thanks so much, I've never heard of these guys and did not get what meant at first. Cool, new store option
Little Update: Got to pick him up today, had to pay around 20€ of customs on the package, ok, its only 14€ but the Post added a 6€ Handling Charge...i must be on some kind of list, as some customs officer opened the package down to the figure and everything was sealed with that funny "opened by the customs office" tape. At least the figure is complete and looks freaking awesome
OK, some ot so good update, but different enough that it warrants its own reply: i wanted to make some comparison of Steel Core and Severo and after transforming Severo without a problem Steel Core simply snapped in half at the waist...so, RIP Steel Core, you were awesome
Picked this up this weekend at TFNation. It's a fun toy but I feel like I've bought it just because it's all we've had from Fansproject. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for Steelcore repaints but I'd have taken the construction deco first. Initially I had to exchange mine as the right hand just fell off out of the box. Kapow were more than happy to swap it over but now that I'm home it's just happened again with my second copy! Tsk Tsk fansproject. Thankfully it's an easy fix.
Yea they seem to have molded the hand on with a small section of plastic connecting the base of the hand to the wrist plate instead of the entire surface being connected.
Funny, I picked mine up yesterday and the same thing happened. Looked like it was supposed to be glued maybe?
Oddly enough, knowing the hand is separate from the wrist allows for some home-made wrist swivels if you're up for a bit of customising.
Just got mine (one week from Hong Kong, is that normal?) and so glad the QC gods spared him. My goodness, I forgot hope much I love this toy. Was anyone brave enough to try adding wrist swivels? I know I'm not. My first instinct is was it's be simple, but the center of the fist is right over the wheel well.
I honestly think it would be easier to cast a new wrist plate with a mushroom peg and new poseable hands (like striker manus) with a slot in the bottom.
Maketoys hands with a wrist swivel would improve the old Steelcore mould immensely. A friend of mine has used a pair of KO MP Prowl hands on his custom Darkcore and they look and function far, far better. In fact, as the plate holding the hand is only held in by the two screws holding the forearm together, an upgrade kit to change the hands for a new plate with a mushroom peg and a pair of hands wouldn't be hard for a 3rd party - even Fansproject themselves - to make and sell separately.
Credit to my pal Luke at Sensei customs. I sprayed the forearms, shoulder panels, parts of the leg, blue torso parts and head black, took those parts to TFNation with me and he swapped them with Severo Core. He then added teal and red details and a couple of 'con faction reprolabels. He added the hands later and this is the finished result. He confirmed it holds the weapons like a champ too and doesn't affect transformation at all.
