My vision of an ideal Siege Megatron situation is:

-Slavish G1 robot mode
-G1ified 2007 movie knifejet alt mode
-Shattered Glass Megatron repaint with transluscent fusion cannon

 

That would be fun. I think tank suits his personality better, but the cybertronian jet has grown on me over the years. Though if they went that route, I'd suggest basing it on the TLK jet instead, that one looked a whole lot nicer IMO.

 

A tank would be acceptable too. And it might be easier to pull off a G1 robot mode from a tank anyway. But the reason I said knifejet is because SG Megs is a winged craft, which is closer to a knifejet. Possibly closer than the TLK form, but that'd be cool too. =D

Yeah, I'm not that picky about a G1 Megatron alt mode.

 

How about a tank with wings...I think that would be perfect.

It’s no secret I’m a Hasui fan.
My hope for Megatron is we see the basic robot mode that would’ve been to go with MP10. Since this Optimus is so close to a smaller mp10.

P.S. what’s the deal with stalker? Is this just because he’s not got a classics figure or does he just have that much “big duck energy?”

 

I'm fully expecting Megatron to be a tank but I would certainly glad to see him having fan modes to give us a jet or even a gun mode.

 

I know SG is sorta disliked by many, but honestly I would be really on board with it. I have the MP 10 version of SG Prime and I think the colors look great on him, far better than Nemesis imo. Megatron, I would kinda like too as a stand in for a redeemed version of the character, seemingly growing more present. Less purple, a little more red, more white than grey, I think that would look nice.

 

I don’t care if they do shattered glass. They won’t get my money for it. I’m not really into “mirrorverse” stories. It’s played out and there’s way more interesting alternate universe ideas that could be used. Getting awakened in the steam era. Or in Ancient Rome (scratch that. Everyone being a chariot might be dull)

 

It's not played out, it's barely played. At the very least I'd like another shot at SG Megatron.

I think a part of Stalker’s popularity stems from his appearance in LSotW. I could be wrong, especially since he doesn’t have a standout personality or character arc imo like Ironfist or Overlord, but his appearance was quite memorable.

 

People likely expect Stalker because of a few things.

Firstly, his alt-mode is similar (if you squint) to Impactor's. And it's already been confirmed that Impactor will have his own deluxe-class toy in the new line.

Secondly, Hasbro's new trend has seen the release of updated versions of pretty much all of the old front-runners from the Cartoon, with roughly each new part of the line corresponding to a specific era of G1. If the trend continues, Prime Wars marks the end of the "main" run - featuring the cast of the Cartoon and whatnot - and War for Cybertron marks the late G1 era of the late 80s and early 90s. Given we're getting Micromasters (released in 1989), it's not too much of a stretch to see Stalker (1992) as a potential release.

Thirdly, Hasbro has another new trend of throwing hardcore fans a bone or three in the form of new releases of obscure characters that have never really had any mainstream relevance since their original appearances, such as Quake and Krok from TR (I know Krok features heavily in IDW, but I hardly consider that "mainstream", no offence to you IDW fans). Stalker definitely falls in that list of "obscure late G1".

 

Had to look up who Stalker was.

It looks like he's a big boy. Maybe he should be Voyager-sized? Though Ironhide/Ratchet and the Seekers are around the same height, and they don't share a size class in Siege, so meh.

 

I hope Magnus shares the Matrix storage compartment feature that the PotP leaders have. It's fine if they don't include a Matrix, but I'll be bummed if he can't hold it. His inner robot chest seems like it opens, so it feels pretty plausible.

Speaking of cross-line compatibility, unless my eyes deceive me, it would appear they snuck a little titan master/prime master foot peg on the back of Cog's head so Cerebros (or whoever) can ride him around. Primus bless'em if that's true.

 

What makes you think Magnus's inner robot chest opens up?

Edited to add: There's plenty of plausible reasons for a chest-hinge. Like, say, head-storage. But I hope it means matrix-storage.

 

Would have been so easy with TR Galvatron as well. Just needed a new Helmet/No Helmet and Megatron Titan Master.

 

It looks like you need to unplug the shoulders just to access that supposed hinge.

 

Maybe. Depends on what all is a single piece with that ab piece. It could just be a little ab-door. It could be the whole window piece (which would slide past the shoulder tabs) or it could be the top section of his chest, which would appear to necessitate unpegging the shoulders. In any case, there's something there. Could be something insignificant, I can't say. But something. You can even see the pin punched through his midsection in the promo pic to the left of the area I circled.

 

I just hope that hinge isn't holding anything too heavy, as it's translucent and all.

 

it also doesnt help that so many of the molds already showen are easily used with G2 characters as well, e.g magnus inner bot thunderclash, hound into Scorch, mirage into leadfoot, punch/counterpunch into boss, sideswipe into flash(though they may need a new name lol) sideswipe into G2 sideswipe, tertra jets possibly have a good chance of becoming the jets from G2 as well, need to see the mold first, just to many for it not to be possible
