These Dino-Cassettes has never been officially reissue before, not even under Encore if am not wrong, hence is a great additional for them to be able to be on this Comic-Con Exclusive package of Retro '80s Bumblebee

 

I would have liked Slugfest and Squaktalk.

 

I just got these in the mail, which I purchased through eBay and it looks awesome in person, always wanted the cassettes but never thought they would get re-issued, even the Bumblebee looks great. The package itself is real cool, love the presentation here, perfect for display. This was the SDCC exclusive that I wanted, and glad I got.

Don't forget you need the Vol. 2 set to complete the "Official" Reissue of a japan exclusive & also the set of brand new Decepticon G1 Cassettes. I received my shipping number from Hasbro today. Needed two sets because - individual & combiners need displaying...shame they don't have a card or tech but I did find a very cool Canadian that can create G1 tech specs for all those G1 issues post 80's. Let me know if this interests you & I can drop his name here for contact on ebay.

 

Everyone who is opening this, something I've noticed as a manufacturing defect - the green cassette Dairu - part of this hangs off, misaligned either being assembled wrong or warping in heart storage. Tremendously disappointing to me because I now have to go through returning this to HASBRO as defective....THEN find one elsewhere after making it through all the SDCC toyshop chaos. SOOOOOOOOOO Upset!

Seems like these are sold out. Any other place selling this set for a reasonable price?  

 

They're all produced that way, you won't be able to get a corrected cassette. I also wouldn't rely on Hasbro to fix it. On top of that, I'd hold onto the one you have while waiting for any kind of a replacement before getting rid of it.

 

if you hold the cassette sticker-side facing you, the piece with MC 60 on mine, that locks into the central black part, is off center preventing full normal function when transforming to dinosaur or combiner. Will post pics when able to locate device to post.

 

I own two of them & the first one was not like this. We are talking 2 to 3 degrees off center vs. tiny amount off.

 

if you watch ebay probaby only palce but you will get hit with the shipping. While they say check back, its likely HTS is sold out.

 

I'm actually glad HTS screwed up and "lost" my order. They charged my card and I had an order number, but it never appeared in my order history and a refund was posted to my card within minutes. As a result, I bought two of these on ebay for $60 each with free shipping and no tax. This exclusive can be had for a bargain if you watch closely and message sellers for a better deal. If you plan to open it and don't care about packaging, ask the seller to toss it so they can use first class mail. There is no reason to get scalped on this one.

There is indication that this set was at general retail (same or different production unknown) also in Taiwan. My first time on this kinda situation - is information here generally reliable? Does this mean much in terms of this product? Two different kinds out there?

 

TFWiki is generally very reliable. And very addictive.

It means people in Taiwan could buy the set in a regular store as opposed to jumping through hoops on HTS or having to go to SDCC. It's the same set, Bumblebee and Cassettes.

 

Anyone still looking for these at initial SDCC street price - they are back up in HTS - Generic Error now with a limit of 2 per household. Previously this was not listed on the page.

I really hope they do the other set... then all we need are Raindance, Grandslam, Sqwalktalk, and Beastbox to have all of the G1 cassettes reissued.
