Not an academic either; recently moved to a more managerial post myself. Hope it goes well. We're nearly neighbours---I'm based in York.

    -------------------------------------------------------
For TFNation...I am actually not looking for much this year. CW Vortex and Brawl, if I find them. Maybe a few more titans returns bots/masters if I find them for cheap. Loose G1 Stunticons if cheap.

No combiners, so that's money saved. No MP Figures unless I'm tempted by a MT Starscream or something or there's a DX9 Blitzwing around.

Maybe the leanest TFNation in terms of what I am after. Let's see.

Got prime and titanmasters to pick up from @Convoy, and @Maz 's Wheeljack, but other than that, pretty easy going.

Enjoy TFNation everyone... Sounds like it'll be a banger.

Also, lots of Yorkshire folk around these days... Time to restart the Yorkshire meetup again?

I think there are a few people who relish the social side almost more than the event...much like a reunion, the Robits are just the excuse to have it!

Hope everyone enjoys TFN, hoping to go next year. Last and only time for me was AA 2013, I'd found out the misses was pregnant a couple of days beforehand so that was a couple of firsts for me :)

See for me I struggle with the social side, I'm alright if I know people, but I'm not one of those who can easily go and say hello to a complete stranger.

Ha! That and the waffle sticks :)

What a nice thing to say - thanks mate! Cheers over the comic too, though the printers haven't sent me the expected 'all done' yet... but they're just round the corner and it's a small job so not too worried.
Great photo too, as always; Big Drag is a possible impulse purchase at TFN for me. I usually just buy a minibot and a couple of comics over the weekend, but am thinking I might splurge a bit this time.

Speaking of the comic, here's the digital version. The image links to it on my onedrive, as I couldn't think of any better place to put it. As mentioned before, I'm not keen on it, partly I think as I've drawn it in quite a cartoony style, which doesn't suit it very well (and well, the story is a bit shit). But I've made my peace with it; onwards and upwards an all that (and apologies for being unable to post something without criticising it first!).

Might be a bit slow loading as it's just the print file, and ridiculously large. As it's the print file the bleed marks are on and it's justified oddly too.

Pondering on POTP Inferno he seems to have the exact same problem with him that Elita-1 has which is there isn't enough limbs to go with both torsos - or even ones that are entirely suitable. But then the same is true of Starscream too - he could of at least done with a CW style Skywarp & Thundercracker or some other Decepticons to make more limbs for him- he can't borrow the Combaticons all the time.

Ideally I'd have liked a few more CW compatible ladies (enough to make a full team for Elita) and another couple of Autobots - to give us some of the obvious missing characters.

For example if they made a CW compatible Red Alert they could also belately do Sideswipe too. (even if it's much latter) and round the set off with Hoist. I don't expect them to make a new Mould for Skids - but really they could have done something like a Policecar repaint of Sunstreaker or even turn Jazz into Drench or Boss.

I do think special Vs 2 packs is the way to go here to finish off the key characters in the compatible style. Like the ones they did with Titans Returns Moulds like Kup already - do that with additional CW compatible toys and that would really help finish those combiners off as well as round out more of the 1984 cast.

:lol  I've come to the conclusion that it's best to get to the chuckling on these sorta happenings, especially if they are the worst calamity one is experiencing, it's nowt, innit?
Made all the easier in this case by getting to occupy the moral high ground and being able to consider oneself not a chiselling tight get after all. It ain't TF-Direct's fault Kapow offered him out of nowhere and, being China based, I bet they have quite a few mouths to feed!:p
I also get the sense somehow that the fun isn't over yet, I won't be surprised at there being a further twist to the tale at collection point but what exactly? Wrong figure entirely? Missing bits? Misassembly or QC issue?
Come back tomorrow to find out, Same Bot Channel!

I remember sitting with you and Tigerblade in the bar briefly - it’s scary how quick that time has gone!!! Hope to see you again next year. I’d not long started posting on here at that point so it was great to meet a couple of threadizens, as it was my first AA for about 4 years at that point.

Also if you want to start watching the 1st episode of FoC I don't think I can edit it any further (while intentionally knowing what I'm doing..)

Pretty good odds -- same TR carded stock as previously, most likely.

Arbitrarily going to look for TFU Ultras, Countdown and Dreadwind. Currently in the process of moving so happy with having other stuff preordered elsewhere and elsewhen.
