It’s a shame Action Man/Revolutionaries don’t seem to be getting a back-up strip, but hopefully this means they’ll at least play a part in the actual story.

I just want a giant two-page spread of everyone charging at Unicron. Optimus and crew in front, Rom and Livia in the air; the Revolutionaries on one side, Joes (including Skywarp) on the other; MASK in their vehicles; Visionaries flanking; and Micronauts flying/standing on someone’s shoulder. And if possible, squeeze some of the ancillary characters (Darby and Camilla, Sgt. Savage, Bulletman, VENOM, Cobra, etc.) in there too.

    So...

Assuming she's not unconscious, then poor Elita. She died as she lived: a big freaking bitch.

And holy crap, Victorian got curb-stomped by Monstructor. If that isn't a massive blow to Pyra Magna's ego, I don't know what is...

    I like the idea that
Monstuctor is a beast unchained while Devastator was controlled rage. Since Monstructor was the first combiner, it leaves me to think that the combined minds of the gestalt was not looked into resulted in a unbalanced moveset that leaves him unpredictable for Victorian to see his attacks coming. Devastator is strong, but he's nowhere near Monstructor in sheer brute animalistic force. She never had a chance. And people thought she was unbeatable.

I don't think there is one in this particular instance. In this continuity, IDW seems dead set on showing us that nobody, not even the "gods" are actually special aside from a few extra powers and a preternaturally long lifespan/capacity to not die. Asking who Primus' mortal enemy in this continuity isn't really much different than asking who the penultimate archenemy of Seymour Frishberg, Senior Accountant III at Wal-Mart Corporate is.

I'd imagine it'd be Paul Judge jr. after what he did to Seymour's wife. The paper's quoted one officer as having said he never saw so much blood, and I think Judge is currently on earth row with no chance for appeal. I'd be surprised if Seymour could ever forgive him for that and would ever consider him anything less of an enemy.

I didn't think that story made it outside of Northern Canada and down to the states.

That actually does beg a question though - why DOES Unicron look so similar to the mythological texts?

Why would Cybertronians know what he looks like? Unless his form is in turn influenced by the minds on the worlds he assimilated.

This is what is bugging me of sorts. The issues regarding Unicron hint that
he was created by that scientist in the now Dire Wraith homeworld, but he still looks like what he would appear in any sort of Transformers universe.Do you think he was the core of Antellia until the Doomsday weapon and the Talisman work him up after the world that formed around him was wiped clean ala Transformers Prime Season 1?

    Another idea.
We know Antilla was among the first planets that Cybertron attacked under direction of Shockwave. The fact that there's a Sentinel there, and Omega Supreme had seen the events unfold himself, suggests that not every Cybertronian who was on the planet escaped. Assuming any of them knew the old legends, they could have been assimilated into the doomsday weapon--thereby providing the scientist a name for his creation. What better way to take vengeance on the Cybertronians than setting their devil against them? Or Shockwave did it, because he's insane.

I wonder if Minimus Ambus will ask himself questions when he see that Unicron and him share a set of facial feature :D
Like: "If I am Minimus and Maximus is death, can I call Unicron Megamus?"

Also: Will that facial feature be banned from future cybertron due to its association with big bad evil?

We're now at the halfway mark. I liked the issue, but now that we know where, who, and why Unicron is, hopefully the story will pick up the pace again and team Idontwannageteaten figures out a plan to not get... eaten. Lots of observations and thoughts below:
    • Antilla colony world/ Unicron confirmed! I can finally rest thinking about those connections hinted all the way back during ex-RID's Blackrock story.
    • Is there a reason why the Omega Sentinels were "bound by honor" to listen to the Primes? Omega's gotten alot of subtle character development throughout phase 2. Antilla explains why Omega didn't trust Primes until he met Optimus, and the way Alpha Trion covered up their dirty work could be the reason he doesn't really care about Metrotitan's prophecy during the RID Annual
    • "Maybe he needed to do a genocide to figure out it's bad?" *cough*Megatron*cough*
    • I think Bludgeon is holding the void scepter. That could explain how he's controlling the Wraith-cons.
    • Monstructor is the freaking boogeyman of IDW Transformers. Where'd he come from? how does he manage to hide himself for years before showing up during big events? No one knows, no one cares, just give me some combiner fights.
    • Oh, so Shockwave wants to turn earth to be the new cybertron. My opinion of Shockwave's master plan has changed from "convoluted batsh!t crazy" to "batsh!t crazy". I still like how grand and over the top his plan his, but it's definitely not for everyone. Also, OP's first arc was called "New Cybertron" as well. Coincidence? Probably.
    • I was almost getting annoyed by Windblade's usual "The Reason You Suck" speech about the war. I'm glad Arcee pointed out there would be no colonies without the colonizers, and they both reminded each other that you can't blame a single group for ruining everything-unless you're Shockwave, then it's definitely your fault and YOU KILLED MILLIONS ON THAT ADORABLE DEVISIUN PLANET YOU BASTARD!
    • I thought the death of Carcer's crew and Elita was appropriate. This was the same crew that was loyal and single minded enough to not mention they were guarding an evil prime in the closet of his own comatose Titan. Of course they'd try and fail to ram their ship into Unicron.
    • Oh Soundwave, you're such a... a...*browses tv tropes for an appropriate term* Guile Hero? Is that the right term for him?
    • At first I thought Octane/Tankor flew away after everyone heard Soundwave send out his warning, but it was actually before. I'm assuming that he's part of whatever plan Windblade comes up next issue.
    • C'mon Needlenose, you and Tracks were on good terms. I'm just hoping there's a background panel next issue of Needlenose carrying him to safety after elbowing him.
    • "Windblade believed in me, once. If she has a plan, we stay." References to TAAO? Good. All I'll need now is Starscream in his ideal form. Do it Barber! DO IT!!
    • Ironhide hasn't even made a cameo appearance from #0-#3, at this point I'm sure he's being reserved for a crucial part of the story. Place your bets on which issue he'll get his Big Damn Hero moment.
Art was fantastic as usual. I was slightly disappointed what was on the cover didn't happen in this issue, but it's still a fantastic cover. Can't wait to get a physical copy of it,

Please let Pyra Magna die in this. She talks too much shit and cannot back anything up.

Starscream better listen to everything Windblade says after his Worldkiller flub.

I kinda hope Elita is alive.

Thank you Arcee for shutting down Windblade's self righteous speech.

I hope Bumblebee turns up the hero of this book.

Where is Megatron? I don't recall seeing him.

Why does Unicron the weapon resemble Unicron the multiversal chaos bringer? We need answers.

    Monstructor from outta nowhere:eek:  #getthestrap.

Multiversal singularities no longer exist. Because Hasbro had officially abandoned the concept, one of the last few comic storylines the Transformers Collectors Club ran saw Nexus Prime splinter all the multiversal singularities as a side effect of healing catastrophic damage to the fabric of the multiverse.

Now Transformers universes are all free to have their own unique versions of Primus, Unicron and the Thirteen, who have no connection to other universes. IDW Unicron is just the IDW version of Unicron, and that he's not a multiversal thing is irrelevant.

Delighted to see Victorian lose. Not so much because I don't like the torchbearers but because I don't like pyra magna. So to see her get some comeuppance was nice.
