I’d rather have drone rockets that turn into limbs for the combiner wars Skylynx or sweep drones that turn into limbs for Galvatronis with a sweet plasma cannon.

I don’t really like how the aerialbot molds look like painted as seekers.

Nope. Once you start making everything into a combiner it detracts from what makes the existing ones special. Different teams each had their own strengths. There was always a payoff too, to each team operating in a certain way: the G1 combiners usually traded speed or intelligence for strength or firepower or something. Dinobots had brute force, Insecticons were small & fit a certain espionage-type role, Seekers were a rapid strike team, Head/Target/Powermasters all had the gimmick/"advantage" of a Nebulan partner...then the giants like Metroplex, Trypticon, Fortress Maximus were all HUGE. I mean; why not just have six Metroplexes (Metroplexi?) that combine into one f***ing ridiculously massive mess of a thing..?

What is this obsession with having everything combine?
If a team was originally created with the ability to form a gestalt, fine. But established characters that were never able to combine being produced as combiners? To what end? What is the rationale for this?

I actually would like to see a combiner Seeker for fun. People forget that Transformers are supposed to be fun sometimes. While I agree that a Seeker gestault would be better done like Devastator, I do not see HasTak doing that any time soon. I would rather them just give POTP Starscream Seeker limbs. They could even make the sixth Seeker into a weapon like the Seacons.

The fact that many collectors would not want one does not mean that those who do want it should be deprived. It doesn't make the original combiners any less special or important.
If you don't want it, don't buy it. Your collection is yours, but don't act like your preferences should define what should be made for people to enjoy. I would think it would be smarter to finish all of the existing combiner teams for general release first (a proper Liokaiser, Dinoking, and Piranacon), but releasing Seekers would make sense for Generations later on as they exhaust their options for G1 homages. It's not like we haven't been getting extra combiners though. Remember the repainted FOC Bruticus into a Wreckers combiner?

Combiners are the best gimmick from G1 (in my opinion), and an incredibly powerful weapon for either side, so it makes sense that the Seekers would be given that power. I hope that Transformers continue for another 30 years and that everyone gets a chance to get what they dream of, pure G1 or characters with new gimmick-based designs. There is no reason we can't all have our cake and eat it too!

No why does everything need to be a combiner?

Combiners are nothing special when EVERYTHING can combine.

Yeah, here’s another Hasbro missed opportunity: they have the Starscream combiner body... they have done the Aerialbots already... just do some simple repainting / retooling to make seeker limbs.

Seriously. Make on renew mold or remold an aerialbot to actually look like a seeker. Make two heads for it (traditional and conehead) and sell that figure five-to-seven times (including Acidstorm and Sunstorm).

Or better yet, make some kind of adaptor so you could add two more bots to the legs (robots as feet) and another to be a targetmaster (like the Seacons). Then they can be one big combiner

Nope. Combiner Wars took the gimmick too far. The special thing about a combiner is that not every Transformer is one.

Now I say that....having thoroughly enjoyed and reveled in Titan Masters. Another gimmick that went line wide.

Would be funny, 5 bot combiner, all Starscreams...:)  We have the core torso Voyager SS as well as Takara made a ghost SS out of the Aerialbot plane mold. I got two deadwings and blackwings to do this with the SS core that is quite nice.

I think a Seeker Combiner would be great, considering they made autobot combiners that were not meant to join and was hoping they would make combining sweeps for the Voyager Cyclonus torso, its logical...and maybe with Siege it will happen.

It would be good if it was a 6 bot team, which would mean the Voyager SS torso would likely be eliminated or one of the bots would become a weapon, but all 6 for design and cost reasons would have to be a similar design, so each bot should be able to become an arm, leg or torso part. Maybe if there were added pieces it would work, or if two of them, the team leaders, formed the torsos and were different designs. I think for it to take, the jet modes have to look really very good and not like chunky monstrosities. Liokaiser made by Hasbro is a great toy, but its still far removed from what he should have been...looks to be a challenge of cost and effort.

    Fun post...thanks..

Probably not. Definitely not at Constructor's scale, but possibly if Iron Factory did a Legends one. As great as an MP combiner looks on a shelf, War Giant is the most-fun combiner I own for messing with.

We've already got Superion, but a new one on the Con side is a yes. But no pre-existing members. New characters only.

i'm not concerned about a full cast that i assume your talking about MP figures that i don't buy, i enjoy crazy new and modern enjoyable charaters like TW Dinocombiner, PE Xerxes and the rest of MMC/PE/MT figures that aren't MP

yup i'd be cool with a giant fortress combiner but there's only 2 on any given side so it would have to be more like Omega Prime you could even throw in Omega Supreme as a weapon or something depending on the ver. you use

Bcuz why not, g1 has been done to death and destroyed by better cartoons in recent years with better story lines, in powerlinx everything combined, in CW everything combines, at least my thought process is about general themes that make sense

I wouldn't buy a "seeker" combiner (I have enough seeker molds), but I'd be interested in a Liokaiser-type combiner made from the late G1/G1.5 Predators. Skyquake and Stalker could form the torso/legs, and Falcon, Skydive, Snare and Talon could be the limbs. Their oversized guns could replicate/homage the original Predator gimmickry and also turn into the combiner hands/feet.

I don't really want one but I'm not vehemently against it. If it happened I'd probably buy it, but it will never be on a wishlist of things that should be made.

I always thought Superion made a VERY boring set of toys, so a seeker version would be unlikely to change that.

However, if IF can make a combiner of the DJD (who were never supposed to do that at all) and make it work, I guess I can be open to anything.

Except the Dinobot combiners. Give me a set of dinobots and an action figure of Beast, by all means. But stop trying to get the ACTUAL toys to do the impossible :)

Yes, but only if the seekers were all the same size and combiner wars compatible for the most part and reasonably priced.
