\"Fans of Transformer’s “Generation 1” will be pleased for the film will showcase many iconic autobots and decepticons- all which sport designs identical to their 1980s cartoon counterparts.\" and yet Blitzwing looks like Starscream. Uh-huh. Some fan theory that I heard said we were being BSed about that character really being Blitz makes sense to me, especially after that statement. But, who knows.

Considering everyone thought blitzwing was starscream, I think we all know how much stick to put into this. 5 seconds of visual fan service is not going to fix the mess they made. Kill it now. Kill it brutally.

And yet somehow the CGI looks more realistic than AOE and TLK. At least in my view. Especially in that shot of Blitzwing transforming!

In the Bay movies, CGI basically became a showboat for ILM crowing about how many 100,000's of moving parts were in each shot to SFX industry trade mags - but f*ck all to do with the viewer being able to follow what the hell was going on.

If they regress back to simpler steps and the human eye being able to keep up for the transformations, all to the good.

But I don't hold out much hope tbh.

Yeah, I think I can agree. The first movie felt more balanced in Transformers-to-human ratio, in later movies they started to rely more on action set pieces than the narrative. And I am also looking forward to Bumblebee, I like the small scale approach they are taking! :)

I'm on board! I liked G1 and Bayverse, and the new style looks very appealing. The mix of G1 with Bayverse looks really appealing :)

It does make me miss Bay, because I can't remember there being this much vitrol before/after any of his movies. It almost like people feel personally violated by the artistic choices of the director and now we're witnessing a meltdown. Every topic ends up the same way with people complaining the same thing over and over again. It's boooring

Yeah, I think that after DOTM, the CGI kind of got worse. Atlthough, it seems to be a trend. I've recently seen Jungle Book and Black Panther and I can't tell that the CGI was top notch in any of them, either. o_O

For the last time Barricade is not in the film, the 3 main cons in this movie are Shatter,Dropkick and Blitzwing no one else !!!!!. Haven’t you guys seen the tweet of Charles Adler saying he is not voicing anyone and if you look at the Jess Harnell Video he never says Barricade is in it he just acknowledges that there is a new Transformers Film.

"A bumblebee film, I just found out now cos you have told me (Sarcastically), naa that's not true I've heard about it a little while ago, I haven't told anybody cos all this stuff slips my mind as soon as I hear it, ummmm but you know what i mean they are going to continue... think of the Transformers as a cow and they're gonna keep milking it, until it runs out of milk man, there will be a Bumblebee film, there will be this film and there will be that film but it's cool cos people still dig it, so it's going to be fun plus Bumblebee is a friend of mine, so good on him". Barricade is not Mentioned here therefore Jess Harnell never confirmed Barricade for the movie.

This. Dotm and tlk in particular used a lot of money for the city destruction and cybertron effects. If they are using this money on just robot on robot they can accomplish lots, esp during aoe we were told the cost of animating tf has gone progressively down so they could really increase their screen time in aoe (which I felt had the most satisfying bot time ratio)
Plus they are filming in one location not globe trotting like a Bond movie

Unless they stuff there a Beast Wars cameo I don't care :p

Wonder which way they'll go with Cybertron? A gray matter or full-color?

I won't take any of this stuff seriously until I see it for myself on the screen.

On topic, I'm very excited to see this go down. And the article said that the Transformers have cool Cybertronian modes so I'm not worried about them looking like Earth vehicles.

It's Micheal Bay Paramount's fault that there's such division. All other franchises got better treatment, but with Transformers poor movies were successful and enbittered existing fans, while creating new fans that oppose the existing fans.

The article didn't say that at all, it says they have Cybertronian designs on Cybertron.
I've never had this issue. I can follow action and such just fine. Don't know what everyone else's problem is.
No, it's the fault of the minority of the fandom who think G1 is the only thing allowed to exist, and oppose any creativity whatsoever like it's going to literally destroy their childhood. They literally are saying they're making it more G1, and 90% - 95% of the people in here are whining about the movies that have already happened, throwing this movie under the bus as though they know anything about the final product, and saying it needs to be killed and replaced with something more G1, which is what they are already trying to do. It's just hateful and bitter people and/or trolls shooting themselves in the foot, so to speak, just so they can post more hate and trolly comments.

To be fair, it's been kind of a back and forth on both ends that's ultimately turned into a vicious cycle at this point.

We have it with any other version of the franchise, there are still fans who will give people crap about TFA.

Absolutely no source whatsoever. If it was Joblo i would believe it in a heartbeat since they have actual insiders.

If this is real, wow neat, nice wee set piece to open on, with some cute cameos, if it isn't ah well.
Doubt it would be real, seems like an odd thing to do on a movie with modest budget for a franchise movie. Though, you could just trim the fat of the DOTM Shockwave model to make rendering quicker, paint the Bumblebee model red for Cliffjumper, toss in a through Blitzwing models (don't @ me) in different colours and call it a day, he says not knowing the trials of making a completely CGI opening with complicated CG characters.

Easy boys, don’t over-egg the pudding. Bumblebee and three Decepticons is enough for a decent action adventure story. Start small and build upwards.
