I was bored and often see people start these threads when some companies go underground for a little bit. When we got PF slag, we thought it would be a one off. Then Cyclonus was coming out and we saw it would be Perfect Fusion's second. At some point that changed so I am wondering what this means for PF for the future. A one hit wonder?

They're Fanstoys. Cyclonus just changed to the main brand.

Who knows why they put Slag v2 under a different brand? Probably as not to upset some quarters is my guess.

Is there a difference between PF and FT (quality, material, etc)?

Honestly, I don't really care what they call themselves as long as it the same guys behind the products...

Their Cyclonus was originally PF2 and for some reason changed to FT29. Not sure why and it doesn't say much for the PF line if their second was moved back to FT. I'm curious what the direction for PF will be or if it's scraped all together after it's one release.

The PF slag made is not better than FT's slag in quite a few people's opinions, it's a stupid move to create PF brand anyway.

From what I've read on the board here, PF Cesium was inferior to FT Scoria quality-wise. Like Fanstoys toys all have that distinctive feel that just feels really really nice and Cesium just didn't have that. It was more akin to what you'd get from other 3p companies. More cheaply made, which is presumably why they could sell it for $130 when all their ft dinos were $200. I don't own Cesium or Scoria so I can't really speak to the quality thing but that's what was going around. Presumably, if Quietus has moved to ft, it means they're going to give him the Fanstoys feel and he'll be more expensive.

It's too bad. I know Cesium was always meant to be a one off but I'd hoped he'd do well enough that pf would do a whole line of Dinobots that aren't stupidly overpriced. The Dinobots are a huge hole in my collection but $200 a figure is just too damned much.

Will PF ever do a reissue of Cesium? Or are they just gone?

It's funny how people still say PF Cesium was made cheaply to be sold (slightly) cheaper, even after we've had 215 toys/bsf specifically explain how much these things actually cost to make. I love Faaanstoys but the spin off should stay a one off.

They could redesign FT figures that the fans have not fully convinced. For example Seaspray.

I think it's important to remember that a 20 dollar difference in cost to manufacture on a run of 5000 units is 100,000 more in cost. The difference between a 60 dollar figure and an 80 dollar figure in cost could be huge but that doesn't mean the 60 should sell for 130 and the 80 for 200 although that may be what's happening. They are being marked up a lot and fans are paying for it. I suspect premium collectibles was offering more reasonable pricing and then it's suppliers got pressured by merchants and so he lost his supply chain and was already committed to buyers. It's a hunch but based on what I learned now I'm wondering just how much these cost when you buy a case.

I heard that people complained that they wanted a true Fanstoys release for Cyclonus. Not a no diecast price friendly version so they switched it. Perfect fusion is probably dead.

No excuses to PremiumCollectables. Let's say he couldn't secure supplies, he can always return money to the buyers. But he didn't do that. PremiumCollectables is literally the only place I've ever lost money at. Kudos to the Aussies!!!

As an owner of both Scoria and Caesium- the PF leaves a little to be desired. There's something about it that just doesn't feel right. I feel as though Fanstoys simply gambled on the perception that fans were dissastied with Scoria's dino mode pushed out a design. It would appear it was a gamble they won, but moving forward I doubt there will be any more PF releases.

Where is this 215 toys information? I'd like to view it.

I have both PF Ceasium and FT Scoria (along with the other 4 dibots) and Ceasium is not at all up to snuff. He is banished to the den while Scoria retains his spot with the others.

Anyway I suspect it’s dead...why else move cyclonus?

I'm glad that Quietus is being made through Fans Toys now, if only because now he'll have fully articulated hands.

I like my cesium a lot but he should be about 5% smaller overall.

215 stuff was on BSFs sit down saturday the other week, and to be fair it was common knowledge anyway, FT products are bought super cheap from the factories and hugely marked up because the market bears it. The big retailers like TFsource put pressure on FT to stop supplying 215 because he wasnt doubling the price like everyone else.

Not saying he did the right thing at all, just wondering if it was initially fraud or an illegal set of reactions to supply chain issues and pressures. Believe me I've lost a fortune.

Anyhow, what's the deal with PF, I'm almost positive Dalianjj said it was a one off but then they released more but then backpedaled. I wonder if it was an attempt to bring more affordable figures to fans.

Oh sorry friend, I was mistaken as to who or what 215 is. Is he a wholesaler? Designer?

To what you said- I recently spoke with a seller on EBAY and was going to buy Apache but decided to ask him a question first. He actually at the nerve to tell me that he makes no profit on the toys he sells on his store. His price was competitive ($5 less than the rest) because he just wants help others- imagine that. Running a 0 profit store! I'd be curious to know the prices that these China based sellers actually buy their FT stock at.
