    Or Monstrosity?

Didn't Megatron land on Quintessa in that?

I'm really not sure, haven't read it since it came out.

Heh, just got done reading that very series today. Yeah, it was Monstrosity and he finds him after an issue or two in.

I can’t believe it took me until today to remember it, but of course the very first issue Roberts contributed to was all about how Prowl can take control of another robot’s mind (in that case, it was Kup).

There’s *no way* it’s not him, to my mind.

“When he speaks, you won’t even see my lips moving.”

That would be brilliant. Actually - that also could support whoever theorized that it’s Flame, based on the previous issue.

And, of course, Prowl knows how when someone is in his head, having had that whole arc where he was controlled by Bombshell - which would explain how he kicked Sunder out

Okay, but... what are you talking about and why? Like, I know who
    Adaptus
is. Did something happen i missed in recent issues that made you think he's the architect? Just seems like a super abrupt comment.

And why is knowing who the
guiding hand were a fuck up? We've known about that for a LONG time, like, what, the first RID or MTMTE annual when Cyclonus recites the lore?

Whoa! On what service? Issue #22 that we otherwise just got the preview for? Damn.

Maybe spoiler tag it since it's not quite out?

I should probably just delete the post to be safe! Anyhow, IDW itself had it up digitally for purchase breifly and then took it down. But yeah, all I gotta say is that it's a wild issue. Everyone is going to freak out about who Primus actually is. He's been in plain sight for awhile.

Ok, we know the GA is
, but who is the original version of him before time travelling to the past.

Massive hint is that his voice hasn't changed. That means anyone who stayed on the Worldsweeper in LL22 to talk to the GA hasn't heard the original-GA's voice as they would recognise it. Or this could just be Roberts tricks-ing us again.

The other four members of the guiding hand are all OCs. Would make sense for the last one to be an OC too. Or again, Roberts is playing with us, and it's one of our best loved G1 characters.

Having fun working through the LL cast, testing if they are the GA. My current favourites, in order, are:

Rodimus. He'll teleport into Primus. 'Open' Rung's alt mode, which destroys Primus, and transforms Rodimus (back) into Adaptus. Also, said that being born was like waking up - could have been that was the result of being mind wiped and teleported.

Ratchet. Ironically, it's perfect for the most outspoken atheiest to be a God. The magnificence called him out by name. Also 'forged medics (as opposed to those whose bodies were "constructed cold", then given life by spliced spark energy) have natural fluidity of movement in their hands that make them the best medics, and this is seen by some (though not Ratchet) as proof of Adaptus's existence'.

Whirl. One of the few LL crew for whom it hasn't been stated how they were created. He changed jobs (adapted), to that of a Watchmaker.

Thunderclash. The greatest transformer that ever lived. Of course he's a God. 'carried the Matrix of Leadership for Optimus Prime during his first sabbatical. It was said the Matrix had to be surgically removed, so pleased it was with its host.'

Grimlock. His mind had been screwed with. Currently slowly waking up back into his former self.

    Krok. Monoformer!

Tarn. He loved transforming so much he wore out countless transformation cogs. And I'm not sure if those still on the Worldsweeper have ever heard him talk (might be wrong about that). However, is dead.

    Xaaron. Because.

Skids. Leant new things all the time. However, I feel his story has been fully wrapped up now we know where he teleported to, and he won't be making a re-appearance.

Tailgate. Only on the list because the magnificence called him out by name. Not buying him as GA - he was 2 weeks old when buried in MTME #1. Maybe was mentioned as it's something to do with his original "Waste disposal" function?

Overlord. Still possible he might make a re-appearance. But I'm now doubtful.

The Functionalist Council. Either one of them or all of them. Nah. The GA has to be from this universe.

My brother thinks it might be Ratchet too, and enjoys the irony of him being an atheist. I hate it. Feels way too clunky a choice, and all that GA machination is so un-Ratchet that it leaves me cold.
Not as cold as the thought of it being Whirl though, i would honestly break down. She can't be a god, i need her to continue just being really fucked up and probably die far too horrifically.

I'm going for Tailgate, mostly because his name was on the list, but also cus i think it's pretty cunning to have your god "alive" for two weeks and then out of action for the whole war. no need to cover tracks there!

Presumably it's someone we know, right? because that's how this sort of narrative works? Though in his narration Adaptus says [wait let me check the actual wording] "the old me is down there somewhere" and "any second now he'll turn and run" which heavily implies that he's not one of our crew. Though, hyperbole? Misdirection? all's i'm saying is this is some good mystery, thanks JRo!

We don't really know how much of his previous life Adaptus remembers. Possible mnemosurgery and that-phrase-i-forget-right-now-where-TFs-forget-things-over-time.

If it's not one of the current LL crew, then the story is going to pull and old character out of the hat in an awkward way (so, maybe Fort Max / Red Alert / Overlord / Skids) and find a reason for them to be that exact area of space. Not keen on that idea.

I think based on Whirl's Holomatter avatar Whirl identifies as female, even if characters aren't explicitly calling out gender (different from Magnus' very distinct choice of Verity). The narrative has certainly insinuated it more than SharkRainbow has, I think.

Whirl is absolutely a trans girl, i've chosen this hill and i'm more than happy to die here!

alright i'll concede it's not canon and is unlikely to be [though i hope to get brave enough to ask JRo what he thinks about it on twitter before the end of the run] but honestly i've been Very Trans and keeping an eye out for characters i can identify with for a very very long time, and no one has ever hit me in the trans feels quite the way Whirl has. A lot of it is quite subtle and i've had a lot of angry dudes who don't like the idea handwave it all away without a second thought, but what can i tell ya? From my perspective, where i'm sitting, it feels like a truth.

Best idea I have so far is maybe whoever Adaptus was in the main universe, he died some point in the past, and the GA is actually the functionist universe version of Adaptus, who I guess would be on Functionist Cybertron right now. Only because any of the core cast would see everything that ends up happening with the Primus robot, and wouldn't have much reason to travel back in time or brainwash someone with mnemosurgery to try some "God gun" they know wouldn't work. (Are there any mnemosurgeons even there? Chromedome gave it up and Sunder had his abilities taken away iirc.) Also, this could just be me, but it looks like the GA is gesturing to Functionist Cybertron when he says "he's down there somewhere as we speak." Still no idea what character it would be tho, if it's a preexisting one.
