Congrats man! I found the Azure harder than the Pink Rathian! I’m preparing to take on Nergigante (spelling?) next! Kinda nervous!
Be aggressive, learn to love the Superman dive, and you are completely invincible if you stay on they ground after getting knocked on your ass.
Correct! It's one of the best ways to avoid Nergigante's OP divebomb attack (which it will use once its spikes have blackened). I would also recommend that, if it knocks you down, you stay down for a moment; the dragon usually follows up knockdowns with a high-powered slam, designed to catch players trying to get up as quickly as they can. If you stay down for a moment, the invincibility frames will protect you and let you get up safely. You should take Astera and push it somewhere else!
Oh yeah, I find the dragons such as the Rathalos, Rathian and Diabolos particular intimidating! The worst for me was the Azure(?)/ Blue coloured Rathalos! Wow! Thanks for the tips! Looks like I have to keep an eye on the black spikes! My buddies who could beat the Azure Rathos easily mention that Nergigante is one of the toughest beasts in the game!
Basically, Nerg-Automata will start growing spikes the more you damage it; they start off white, then harden to black. Keep attacking its spikes while they're white to try and break them. If you can maintain offensive pressure and stop it fully developing its spiky armour, it is significantly less resilient and it can't use its most powerful attack.
Guys! I did it! Thanks to your advices I beat Nergigante (carted once)! Tbh I found Azure and Diablo (?) giving me trouble but I think a couple of factors helped me: 1. Advice from you guys to do the ‘superman’ dive! Each time the beast flew up, I ran in the opposite direction - I ran in the opposite direction and dived! 2. Nergigante did fly around too much like Azure, Rathalos 3. I think the monster’s style just ‘fit’ my stuff as it was aggressive? He would attack almost non-stop (to me) and I would dodge and roll, attack etc Tbh I really enjoyed the fight! And here’s the downer...after beating Nergy, I was waiting to watch the credits roll, instead I have to hunt 3 more monsters or elders?! Anyway, the games’ pretty enjoyable so I don’t mind!
Guy, is the dropping of the monsters’ gems random? I just realised that in my last Bazelgeuse kill (which I was fainted 2 or 3 times), I got 3 (not 2) of its gems. However, in my sequent hunt I got 0 gems despite fainting once. Nooooo!!! So when will I see the credits roll dude? XD I’m going to hunt the ‘dragon of steel’ next!!!
Summer Twilight Festival confirmed to be 13th of July. This will see the return of all event quests, add some new ones, and will lead up to Behemoth (which will have a livestream beforehand).
For those that are planning to get this on PC we are getting the first details ( release date, minimum PC specs, Distribution Platform ) on July 9 Monster Hunter on Twitter
Livestream of the Behemoth hunt! A few interesting points here; -Behemoth will focus on players who consistently hit its head, emphasized by a red line between it and its target. This is called enmity. The idea here is that your toughest tankiest hunter will focus on its head to gain enmity and thus occupy the monster, allowing the other three to chip away at it and providing support to the tank. -Behemoth is weakest against the dragon element and can be afflicted by status ailments pretty decently. -Behemoth's super move is the Ecliptic Meteor; when it summons this attack, you HAVE to seek cover behind the smaller meteors. It spans the whole area, and there is no avoiding it; you can't dodge it, shield it, even fly away from it. You have to duck and cover or you die instantly.
I am absolutely loving this Behemoth fight. I hope these MMO-lite elements make it in future hunts. This fight requires more coordination than even Kulve. Also shout out to the devs for reworking a Nergigante skeleton to make Behemoth super fresh.
Capcom: "Behemoth is an incredibly powerful monster. To have any hope of beating it, you must bring teammates, each taking on specialised roles and coordinating as an effective unit." This chap: There's always a show-off, eh?
