Between breaking the backpack clips, having an iffy beast mode, and weak combiner hips/thigh swivels, yeah.

Anything I can do to avoid the backpack clip problems? High grade sanding maybe?

I have no idea. After the first time removing the backpack, it sheared a bunch of plastic off the clips, but it actually made it easier to remove going forward. It even holds on just as strongly as before.

Sanding might help, as will just being aware of the issue.

    Alright, they're here from BBTS
    DjOzffgWwAE30eX.jpg

Despite buying them loose, all of them came in their boxes except Divebomb/War Hawk.

There's issues. A lot of the plastic has tags and flakes left on them. Most of that's easily cleared away, but there's a ton of it on the Predaking hands, which scraping them off would damage the paint. War Hawk is also an issue: his right wing fits on just fine, but the peg on his left wing was cast pretty poorly and won't click into place like the right. I contacted BBTS about it, but not sure if any good will come out of it.

Sure enough Razorclaw/Sharp Claw is the weak link that brings the set down. (Barring Divebomb/War Hawk's first-attempt lack of engineering, he's bad) I've seen the fix for his hip ratchet problems, but I wasn't expecting his thigh swivels to actually be built on a pin. No idea how to fix that without risking damage.

But the thing that shocked me the most was how much force it took to attach Rampage and Divebomb to Razorclaw for Predaking. It was difficult for Rampage and IMPOSSIBLE for Divebomb until I shaved down the plastic a little.

The wingpack, I see the clip problem now, which the leftover plastic tags sure didn't help. Really threatens to pull him down backwards while it's on, and it's almost impossible to get off when you want to break Predaking down.

I don't regret buying him, but it'll definitely take a bit of work to bring him up to standard.

man, I wonder if Warlord would scale great with MMC's Skylynx. Another reason is I'm looking at these.

There's a chance that release will finally be what depletes BBTS' supposed surplus of these guys, maybe.

You know, I got this as they came out, and I honestly never had any of the problems that you guys are having. Mine has been sitting there assembled into Warlord/Predaking for years in my Predaking Collection with no problems.

Tried the first video with a bit of eraser but it didn't work, probably because it was a crumbly eraser rather than a pink one

The second video, it's not a misassembly really, the shaping matches up, but this fix just isn't very optimal. Doing it makes the leg panels unable to close up properly. and I'm afraid it's going to break the tabs. Guess I'll be trying to pour pledge into the pin and working it in.

Hey guys, yesterday I finally got my PotP Predaking and even tho he is not perfect he does look pretty descent in combine mode, but the reason I'm here is to talk about my UniqueToys Warlord, now my problem is how should I display them,it seems kinda pointless to keep them in combine mode, but I also don't know whether to display them in animal or robot modes, which would you choose?.Thanks guys.

Abominus looks really good beside these guys. They are almost the same height, with Predaking being more bulky

If I don't have Warlord yet, should I just go with PotP Predaking?

I would say Bot Mode. They fit in pretty well with the rest of any other CHUG Figures you might have.

Hey twelvesam, honestly PotP Predaking is actually pretty good,it doesn't have much diecast in him but in combine mode he probably weighs 2-3 pounds which is nice, but not so heavy he's hard to handle.I would say get him if you have the money.UT Warlord does have his flaws but they look descent in a collection, but he is somewhat floppy,I would suggest if you get Warlord its best to get ready with the future polish cause their are a lot of loose joints but in the end this thing is a BEAST pun intended.Let me know what you decide.

Yeah I used some folded up pieces of paper behind the ratchet and it worked good so you don't have to use the plastic he did. I just made little folded flat packets, cut them to size and slipped them in. The eraser is probably, as you said, too crumbly but in the end, it DID make a big difference in those ratchets when I got done. I did the same thing to my TT tracks with the folded white paper pieces and it fixed him too. Give that a try.

The second did the same thing to mine. It does lock the legs tighter but if you move them funny, it can pop them open. Still, I took it off and put it back and realized, even though it's not "right" it was better in the end. I ended up putting it back how he showed it because the combined end result was indeed better. Just have to be careful how you turn it so they don't pop open. I've popped mine open many times playing with him and it's never damaged anything for what it's worth. Just have to readjust and close the doors again. :)

Still not upset though. For $100 or whatever BBTS was selling them for, it's a bad ass looking Predaking on my shelf, and I don't even really care for the character!

I think I'll opt to try pouring some kind of thickening agent into the swivels before trying that again but thanks for the second opinion.

BBTS asked for a video demonstrating the issue with my War Hawk, how the mushroom peg on the left wing is just a lump with no ability to actually hold in anywhere. Sent it along to them yesterday so hoping they can do something... something that doesn't involve me sending the WHOLE thing back.

    Sure no worries! :)

BBTS is really good about problems so I wouldn't worry about them fixing it. Either they'll send you a part or they'll send a label so you can get another (worst case) but at least they'll make it right.
