Looking at this, it looks like this figure is based off of the original toy and not so much on the animation model. The face has a visor instead of separate eyes, the truck cab doesn't spin around, and he doesn't have wheels on his shoulders.
Oh well, at least he's a not IDW Optimus wearing a Huffer mask, and body painting himself as Pipes.

Edit: It'd be nice if it included an optional cartoon accurate head though.

Is every store lazy or is this guy going to actually be a thing because if they redo undamaged Megatron in this style then I'm down for that. Not sure because I thought this was an April Fools thing

 

I’m just glad his eyes are red and not blue, even if igear’s pipes is maximum precious. I also doubt there’ll be a switch in the back of his head like XTransbots’ Stack to change his eyes to something more Cylon looking, though.

But, I would be down for a LeVar Burton visor version of Pipes’ head since the two red eyes strongly evoke Jin Roh for me. Now, I love Oshii’s anime film, and I think his video films StrayDogs and The Red Spectacles are worth a watch, too.

Still, I’m not sure Pipes needs to look like the Terminator.

If we leave that aside, Heikew is adorable, and hits me in the feels alongside (IDW) Cosmos, Tailgate and Wipeout, who I also hope we’ll see in 3P Legends soon(ish).

I think DX9 noticed their old face sculpt was awful.

Sadly, I think the pursed lips aren’t much better.

But, if there’s an optional laughing face sculpt and a segmented mace as opposed to one with a droopy bit of plastic that seems easy to break, then DX9 has another sale from me.

 

I don't think you'd be able to swap the face out like MFT's but it should include a second head with the laughing look although on my MFT Megatron which really was used for the accessories I had him with the stock face. A mace on an actual chain would be nice considering MFT's came with a segmented mace

Even if it didn't break, that still made me cringe.

 

Maybe you can’t break it, but this gives real meaning to what the KO companies puckishly call “deformation warriors,” since you could probably put a permanent bend into your figure doing that.

Also, it’s worth noting that SotE didn’t get handsy with the internal hinging, cause then the figure might actually break or tear or what have ya.

Still, that’s pretty cool and I look forward to Magic Square Toys releasing a character that I like, so I can see what they’re up to.

Just found this thread, very nice compilation. I actually used it to add a few figures that I had no idea they existed to my wishlist on robotoybase.

This is my current setup. That's the scale I'm collecting. I'm leaving these here for comparison between different figures in case anyone needs it.

Welp. Thanks to the ebay flash sale going on now (PRONTO15 code) I preordered IF Ruination for $169.

I threw in an IF Deadlock for the hell of it.

Get you some discounted legends figures! There's a couple hours left I think.

 

Posting here so I don't get people's hopes up with an bump on the IF Hound/Mirage/Wheeljack/Cliffjumper thread, but damnit I really want to see some pics of those figures. Even just grey prototypes. I'm off my adrenaline high from the Seige reveals at SDCC and need something new to drool over damnit.

IF Steel Lucifer in my mailbox would also be acceptable...

 

I'm debating a couple of different Legends displays...

Thinking of ditching my Fansproject Dinos & 2nd Chance Shockwave. I already got MFT Shockers and I dig the Ashura Knights.

Also thinking of doing Huge Dragon, Megatron and the Seekers for a classic Budiansky display. Is there a good G1 legends-style Soundwave & his cassettes?

If only there were more IDW figures in Legends, I'd ditch my entire CHUG collection for em.
