If they're talking about IDW, that's accurate. Maybe even generous.

For me the stance on the movie franchise is this. Bay tried to make transformers different than what it’s core essence actually is. Thus it was only ever going to have a limited shelf life, as instead of working on creating engaging movies that were true to the source material the whole production tried to completely reinvent exactly what transformers is..... and true to form the only characters that stayed popular amongst the general public were the ones that stayed true to their roots....Optimus and bee. They introduced too many variables and alterations that people generally ended up not giving a monkeys about any of it because they couldn’t keep track of it all.

Oh back to the stance regarding paramount...I see them as possibly going for a reboot as there is a certainly a huge market and demand for the transformers to exploit, but what’s clear is that they are probably thinking that they need to let Hasbro take the lead on how or if things move forward. And I only say IF because paramount seems to be a company that isn’t the brightest bulb in the room and they would be really really dumb to drop transformers without giving it a proper shot under circumstances that stay true to its own identity oh and also don’t include bay and the rest of the writers room and production team.
