But Yeah, I can kinda see it. lol

    Edit:
Geez...for the stupid amount I paid for him at my local retailer ...kinda getting afraid now for my Dinobot when I get him next week with all these arm ratchet horror stories.

    ...ugh!

I handled Ratchet joint toys before, but all these reviews tell me that it's most likely Dinobot has very fragile Ratchets and I hope that is not the case and it was because some were just rough.

His raptor legs become his robot arms.

There are panels that flip out above his orange shoulder rings.

The shoulder is suppose to ratchet up and in, aligning the panels that fold around to form part of his torso.

In order to tab his back and front together, then click everything into place by tabbing the fake raptor head into his crotch area, those side torso panels ( the ones that flip out above his orange shoulder rings), HAVE to be aligned properly.

Since those panels are attatched to the same pieces as the shoulder ratchets, you have to ratchet those shoulders almost flush to his body.

So that's a bit concerning. Hopefully there is a fix for everyone who has ratchet issues.

I'm watching the video now. It seemed that diecast moved the arm a bit too harshly than I would when it broke.

By the way, Dinobot's arms can laterally move up on two joints on the shoulders, right? I don't think you need to use the broken ratchet shoulder joint at all if you want to pose his arms...

I'm kinda bummed him and Megs are so expensive. Dinobot and Megatron are my favorite characters from Beast Wars.

Honestly, transforming Dinobot to robot mode wasn't all that complicated.
The only issue I had was that damn left shoulder ratchet.

This coming from someone who gets easily frustrated with over complicated instructions.

I agree. Not only is that joint inaccurate, lifting it up causes the entire arm to move away from the body, revealing a gaping hole in his side.

What do you think about what @SunSwipe5 said regarding the broken joint's affect on transformation?

Just read that a reviewer (Diecast Unicronus) had the ratchet joint on his break. Yikes.

So it seems that the "shoulder joints" that people have been breaking aren't supposed to be shoulder joints at all, just necessary for transformation. See how this Japanese reviewer (go to 18:28) demonstrates shoulder articulation on the other joint.

Notice also how the same reviewer (go to 13:57) transforms the shoulders. Gentle clicks, and folding hinges at the base. Hopefully, doing the same can prevent any breakage. And notice how, when the "shoulder joints" are already in place, he does not move them any more.

So even if that joint breaks on you, you'll still have a properly functioning bot mode. I'm not sure how much it affects dino mode, though.

So it seems on my copy I have a tight left shoulder transformation ratchet. Other than not moving that joint, maybe putting some kind of lubricant in it can ease the stress on it?

It seems that I'm just repeating what you already said. Can't wait to finally get this so that I can try it myself.

So, that’s 4 breaks already. It’s not like Takara had a year and a half to figure it out or anything...

It doesn't affect much. The only thing that I can see happening is the Raptor legs being a little loose in terms of a side-to-side motion. But the legs themselves secure to the body using a separate joint.

Thankfully, mine didn't break. I could see it was stressed though.

I did watch a Japanese reviewer, to make sure I was transforming the shoulders correctly (I was, no thanks to the crappy instructions).
Even he had to mess with the shoulder ratchets a little bit.

No breakage yet, **knocks on wood** I'm going to put a little bit of synthetic grease into the ratchets to relieve it of some of the friction.
