I was told by the person who brought them to the con as gifts that they hand painted and assembled these themselves as a labor of love and token of friendship and appreciation for a small amount of people ... there was one case with a very small amount inside of it and was by no means a full production run or funded by the proceeds of your individual purchase

 

How hard would it be to dye some divine armour black? Im assuming the chrome pieces would have to be stripped first (I hate chrome).

 

That is an epic way for them to thank all of the vendors and reviewers that have supported them. Very cool!

Not sure what you meant. The guy paid for his item. He wan't expecting anything free. I am guessing he felt frustrated that instead of turning around and using money that people paid to develop a product that people would pay, MT instead decided to give some people free stuff. How is that entitled?

Also fans are the TRUE supporters.

 

Disagree. Vendors exist because fans exist and pay for their items.

 

It is the very definition of entitled. "I bought a figure from Maketoys and now I am upset that they are not doing what I want them to do."

Anyways! I was thinking to pass on this one (still haven't opened my Striker Noir, and I figured if I didn't have time for that, what would I do with another black Prime) but I bought a Thunder Erebus during the last ebay flash coupon thing, and, combined with some ebay bucks, managed to get it for $80. I wasn't planning on opening it right away but the box it came in was crushed pretty badly, so I wanted to check and make sure it wasn't damaged.

Really impressed with the figure. The little powermaster is a bit fragile-feeling, especially around the hips (reminds me of my Ruthen from the Steelcore trailer set, where one of the hip joints cracked) but seems solid. The cab is a nice legends-ish sized figure in its own right, really poseable and an easy enough transformation. The whole thing with the armor set, though, really puts it over the top for me.

Curious to see how the other Cross Dimension figures shape up. I know the Classics style isn't cool these days but I still enjoy it, and if they keep managing a fun but not frustrating transformation along with this kind of poseability and accessories, I could see myself buying a couple others. The Jetfire certainly looks real interesting with that quinjet alt mode.

 

LOL. Are you serious man? You read English? "believing oneself to be inherently deserving of privileges or special treatment." What's the special treatment that's expected here? Everyone who wants the addition knows that we'll have to pay MORE to get it. If the guy is asking the item for free then yeah I would agree that he's pretty much an a*hole. He's only asking why some people are entitled and some not.

 

And the thing is, LOTS of people want this addon for their Erebus... he's not exactly asking for something only he wants.

 

"MT, please do a production release of this!" is asking for something you want.

"I can't believe MT gave something to someone instead of making what I want right now!" is being entitled.

It is "not using the proceeds of his purchase to do anything other than what he thinks it should be used for."

That feeling where you think they owe you to do something in particular and then you complain when they don't, just because you bought one of their products? That's being entitled.

Maketoys can do whatever they want with their time and resources. Why not just be happy that a few people got a really cool gift and share in the joy of a fellow collector?

"Entitled" does not mean "receiving a gift."

I really hope Erebus is rereleased, and that that armor gets some more teal and red, too!

But, like Daim, until we get an actual announcement, I’d presume all sightings of Armored Erebus are gifts sent by MakeToys to their “Especially Nice List” fans, and not a reason to spool our hype thrusters.

 

I saw that at TFCON Toronto in their display case. I asked them about it and they said it was a one off prototype which MT sent them and may not see a broad release.

 

Ewww, they didn’t fix the arm and leg issues for the divine suit :/

 

Why would they fix it? It's not a release, they just had a few black copies they gifted to people.

 

Now they're just teasing us. *grumble grumble*
