Thanks! There are a YouTube review or two of the standard release. Thought maybe the legs were shiny vs not and the colors may be more matte on one but couldn’t decide and hadn’t seen a definitive answer
Somebody mentioned a few pages ago that the SDCC version was matte finish whereas the regular version was a semi-gloss when they saw the display at SDCC (pretty sure that's where they saw it?). I went with regular version because of this.
The other differences is the sdcc is matte while the standard is a tad more shiny plastic, and yeah just the effect part I think
I've got the retail minipla Voltron on pre-order (thanks for the heads up to whoever posted about amiami having it, btw) and cannot wait to build it. I've never put together one of these models though. Are sprue clips a necessity, or could a small pair of wire cutters work just as well?
Thanks for adding arrows to you pics. Makes it much easier to identify what you modified. Looks great!
I’ve been using the same small pair of wire cutters for decades. Just make sure they are sharp. Also have an Xacto knife or hobby blade handy to clean up the snipped spots. Enjoy the build, These kits are usually a lot of fun!
Built green tonight. Just a couple changes. Beefed up the hind quarters a bit. Seemed a little malnourished. And added the white cheek piece.
Well at the sdcc panel, we did see a fully weaponized earth with new advanced tech, it’s possible maybe humanity attempted a vehicle Voltron in preparation for the Galra?
I posted these shots over in lend's custom thread. Didn't know about this thread - seems like a more appropriate spot for them. [Edit] one more pic now that I've gone through this thread and got the idea for the double hand hold.
No, it was an old thread from when he first created his Voltron before submitting it to Lego ideas. Non-TF: - Lego Voltron Though he does have a thread he's started on customizing the red Lion: Non-TF: - LEGO Voltron Mods (Red Lion)
