Mine was pretty hype, after the day I couldn't sleep. What was your reaction, when you first saw the live action transformers trailer & Optimus Prime transforming for the first time in the trailer? :D

I am 20 now but I was pretty young during the time the first one came out still in elementary school and stuff. But my reaction was it looks cool I was a little skeptic since even as a young child I never really liked live action movies of cartoons.

Also if you want to read some really old youtube comments for 11 years ago aka 2007 I found these videos.

I don't remember how old I was when the first trailer came out, but I'm almost 21 next month. When I saw Optimus Prime transformed in the second trailer i freaked out so hard lol couldn't breathe at all.

Yeah the trailers from the 1st movie definitely had some magic to them that you just didn't feel after that.

The teaser trailer has kind of aged, but that Nickelodeon spot actually looks like something that could be released today.

When the '07 movie came out, I was still in the early stages of being a TF fan and didn't even have Internet connection, so I never even saw the trailers for it. The first Transformers trailer I recall seeing was the teaser for Dark of the Moon.

I'm curious if there are any actual reactions to the '07 trailers on YouTube...

Edit: just did a Google search for "transformers reaction" from 2006 - 2007, and I don't see anything. I guess trailer reactions weren't a thing ten years ago. I wonder what popularized them?

i wasnt commenting that transformers is bad , i was commenting that when i first saw the trailer i was becoming more skeptical about a movie about giant robots that turn into stuff but now i realize that this movie is gonna be awesome.

As long as Micheal Bay is in charge..this movie will suck bigtime. this is probably the worst director ever. They should have let Spielberg Direct it, i guess there is a chance it will be a jaw dropping film if Spielberg, which is producing it, will watch Bay from making it trashy like all of his movies. We'll see on 07/04/07.

I almost never watch trailers except for Age of Extinction:)  But I didn't watch TF1 trailer, because I almost didn't know anything about Transformers at that time. As most of people in my country.

Man, these trailers have aged well. Yeah, I remember being on YouTube watching the trailers back then. I was so hyped by all the advertising. I was about 9 at the time, and coming off the Unicron Trilogy, and seeing the original 1986 movie, I was so in awe of actually seeing this in live-action. It was almost too crazy to believe at the time.

Also, shoutout to the DS games and movie game that came out with this one. Those were loads of fun. Transformers games need to bring back the free roam.
2007 was a great year to be a Transformers fan.

I was annoyed, as this was on the back of the concept art leaks and nothing had changed by the time of the trailer, thus confirming the films were set on sticking two fingers up to the g1 fans.

But it's normal... And life showed, that it was RIGHT decision. The Movies are for general audience, who doesn't care about G1. Original fans have a lot of nice refferences and easter eggs. I think it is much more interesting, than just copying! Also during the years TFs appearance in cartoons is changing constantly! There were a lot of OTHER TF universes with very different styles and people like them, why do you expect TF Movies, repeating G1? And even several years ago (let's be honest - in 2017 in the thread about TF1 jubilee) a lot of people were saying, how Movie's aestetics is stunning, refreshing and realistic. G1 designs are from 80s (and from the show for young children!) they are unavoidably outdated, cartoony and blocky. Of course, you love this aestetics, but it already had its good time, it can not be used forever. And filmmakers have creativity, they want to show and tell something more, than Hasbro did in 80's. We are in the age, when real hi-tech robots conquer everyday life and people are going to conquer Mars... You need something really breathtaking to hit people's eyes and mind. And visual appearance is very important, it is the first thing the viewer gets.

There will be always two trailers in my heart, I know there are three but cant remember much how I felt with the first trailer.

Now, this one. I was in college the day this one was uploaded and I just..ran home to log and see it because..I just wanted to see it fresh from the oven. And I kept repeating it and shaking. I mean..I dreamed about a Transformers movie for years and it was finally happening. Even if the trailer didnt show anything, this was the official advertisement that the movie was happening! :D

PRIMUUUUUS!!!!!! This one still gives me the shivers. Its all sorts of awesome! The classic VW in the lot, Bobby's line about the "mystical bond", the G1 theme starts playing, Bee transformers, Megatron there shows up, Scorponok, Starscream, Prime f--ing Transforming, BlackOut appears, more action, Bonecrusher fighting Prime! I mean, come on! This trailer has not aged at all!!!!! :D
