Let me see if I understand this correctly....Walmart is exclusively carrying G1 reissues made from the original molds and there was no announcement and all the preorders are sold out...The first I heard of it was IGN via Africa and then I proceeded to watch Walmart.com for the next 30 hours or so...The moment I stopped checking the preorders went live and sold out....This is right up there with the Star Wars TRU exclusives that are currently making certain Canadians some considerable profits...Pretty hard to get an exclusive from a store that no longer exists in America...Sad. And now those of us seeking to buy back a fraction of our lost youth are only left with the cold red words...Out Of Stock...

Considering that Takara has reissued Galvatron a few times in the past, he's not out of the question. I'd say a Hasbro reissue would be based on the Takara version with the new batteries and new sound effects. It will probably also have voice clips, although getting Frank Welker would be highly unlikely.

 

Jazz is possible. They reissued him in 2001 for the commemorative line. The Dinobots would be amazing. I'm actually super surprised Optimus isn't one of the first reissues....

 

Bumblebee is at $10.79 now...This is a bizarre game Wally World is playing...

That's where I am. Georgia, USA. They asked for my zip code. I don't know if it's going to be that way for other countries. The Walmart here never has anything good anyway, but I also live in Pennsylvania and the stock is the exact same there. I have a brother in California keeping an eye on things too. This has been par for the course for toys for a while now. I'm 40 years old and have been collecting since a child.

 

Well this may be an unfortunate development. I guess Devastator is too big to carry?

Possibly. I really can't say. I still don't understand why there wasn't any official announcement from Walmart or Hasbro unless I missed something. The general consensus also is that Walmart customer support isn't reliable. Maybe Devastator is online only and the others won't be. I wish I knew when Hot Rod was going live. I missed everything else.

 

I am guessing that could be because the item has not been releases yet. Did you ask about the other figures or just devastator?

 

I didn't even ask about Devastator he already knew before I said anything. It was weird. I understand supply and demand and profit margins and capitalism, etc. But these toys should be available to the loyal fanbase that made these companies what they are today. We'll see.

I hate these NES classic type of messes. A release like this shouldn't be so complicated.

 

Can’t believe I missed Starscream! I guess I’ll just have to settle for the Hallmark Ornament haha. I’m sure there will another reissue in the future. Oh well...

 

The parts that were originally die cast will be die cast. These toys also have chrome plastic. They are not the same thing, Devastator had both in G1 and will have both now.

 

Walmart's cust service people don't have any idea what is going on. They can just look things up in the computer and either its there or it isn't. These are online only for now, but have shown up in stores in Canada (the minibots anyway). No one knows if/when they'll be in stores.

 

I am hopeful these will get a restock. Nothing was as bad as the NES classic. It always sold out within minutes of of being listed online and being stocked in stores. I only managed to get one 8 months later by frequently checking brickseek and buying it as soon as a target that got an overnight delivery opened. Four other people were waiting for it as well and although I was lucky to get one, they immediately sold out.
