Seems like you lose backwards hip movement more than any thing else.

Once my pc21 and pc 23 arrive i plan on using slag and sludge for the legs. Those of you who have the pc21 set, will i need to file down the feet pegs to prevent breakage?

My feet plug in fine with a little wiggling and a light touch, but a couple people have reported the peg breaking the Slag/Sludge port.

I checked fitment and tolerances before shoving the PC21 parts fully onto the dinos. Surprisingly was not overly tight and did not have to sand down the pegs.

Oy I stripped one of Grimlock's thigh screws entirely. Currently gorilla glued another screw on top of that one to see if that can help get it out. Other wise I may need to try my hand at dremeling. Aside from that I tested putting on the back and front chest pieces and like the way it looks so far. Here's hoping I can just get that one screw out...

So I got my upgrade sets in and installed them. Installation was easy, just a couple screws and throwing parts in the part box.

The swords work really well, and I like the big feet. This was my first perfect effect kit so that was a surprise. The Hasbro combiner feet look even more ridiculous next to these.

The instructions show Grimlock legs facing forward with the tails in front but I couldn't get volcanicus to not have a permanent bent knee stance since the tail and limb heads want to occupy the same space so I have the legs turned the other way.

Also found storage for all the official feet and hands to store on the combined mode. I think it looks cool. 0723181916.jpg 0723181905.jpg 0723181904.jpg 0723181903a.jpg 0723181903.jpg

How do the PE bits look as weapons on the individual bots and dinosaurs? Part storage is an issue for me.

Here's a video Review I made of both PC-21 & PC-23 this includes also the assembly, robots modes with weapons, with swords, dinobots with mounted guns, and obviously the combined Volcanicus.
I also show in the video how I broke the original leg trying to pry it open, in the instructions it shows the original leg having 3 screws to remove, but there was only 2... the 3rd screw was in fact a Glued in peg. So prying this peg open I snapped it off. But interestingly enough, on the second leg, the peg was not glued in so the removal was quite smooth. Check it out for yourselves :)  Enjoy!

Solid review! I’ve been pretty on the fence with either this or the TDW kit. And I’m going with this in the end. It just looks more solid and has more sturdy looking plastic. Thanks!

Put a rubber band or latex glove across the screwdriver head.

My kits finally showed up, and they're wonderful.

Note: I replaced the new ratcheted joint with the ball and socket joint from a ko set I had, and I'm using this sword for my figure instead of the kits, mainly due to PE-23's sword being too heavy for the joints to hold.
