I'm not a big fan of the blue bits on G1 Optimus, but I will definitely be picking this up. I might pick up the movie one as well.

I'd actually love a 1:64 scale G1 line of these. Im actually looking into customizing Hot Wheels to look like G1 cars. I've seen the movie ones, but I'm a G1 fan.

G1 Optimus is SOO COOL!! I WANT ONE! I wish they'd make an R/C one not controlled by a cell-phone!

IDK. These are gorgeous, but to me their vehicles. Defeats the point of being a transformer if it doesn't become a robot. I wish the MPs had this level of altmode accuracy, or at least, the gas tanks were made better. Still, these are pretty. I just prefer actual Transformers. That's why I haven't bought the toys that are just their robot modes. The joy of collecting Transformers is their ability to transform. LoL

Its a pre-built pre-painted metal model with opening doors for the trucks, and opening doors , hoods, and trunks for the cars based on the transformers vehicle modes. Technically not an actual transformer , although it does have a pic of the robot mode on the bottom of the car or truck. Jada started making them for TLK movie with optimus, bee, barricade, and hot rod, and crosshars at various scales of hot wheels scale at 1/64 for about $5, 1/32 for $9, or the more traditional 1/24 scale most model cars go by at $20. These are the newer wave of G1 cars, and first movie trilogy cars. Jada makes a lot of real world metal model cars this is their movie spinoff series. In the past they have done a lot of fast and the furious cars, batman, transformers. Ghostbusters, back to the future and knight rider are some of the newer ones set to release. I've seen the ghostbusters car once at retail but passed on it because I have a few models of it already but jadas does look pretty nice.

Its actually orangish, or gold on first trilogy optimus that transitions to red, but it looks like they substituted yellow in its place

I love how these threads derail. There's plenty of Transformers merchandise that doesn't transform. These aren't intended to replace transforming figures at all, these are totally different thing. Some people collect vehicles from movies, TV series etc., some people may just want a vehicle mode (which with Hasbro's continual cutting down on paint, will have a better deco) to display alongside their figure. I really don't see the need for people to get all facetious and act like they don't understand what something is. Yes, Transformers transform, but not every representation of them has to. Otherwise, no fan would wear a t-shirt or display a poster with a Transformer on it when it's not shown in both modes.

I like the idea. There's been plenty of non-transforming action figures and statues before, so I\'m glad to see the vechicles get some love. I just wish they came with trailers. I hope to see more from the G1 line.

Cool, reverse Action Masters! Really like that G1 Prime, would pick it up if I ever saw it at UK retail. (Most unlikely.)

I rember when I used to be entirely against any sort of TF that didn't transform. So in a lot of cases I love popping in threads for the first time and seeing that there are still people who will argue that this is some abomination that should have never been made, after being a fan for so long. As if it were taking up a slot from Jada making a fully transformable figure, or as if Hasbro only gave out the TF license to a handful of companies.

What are people's thoughts on other G1 cars being made by Jada? Is it likely?

G1 Bee and 70s camaro Bee are so far the only other transformers cars besides these that are confirmed. Jada has done the Lamborghini Hotrod from transformers the last knight. I could see them doing Lamborghini countachs as G1 sideswipe and sunstreaker. Honestly though I'm betting the only G1 cars will be prime and bee since they are pretty much the face of the franchise. If any other jada tf cars are released after this I'd bet them to be various movie series cars than G1, although imo a white repaint of G1 prime to ultra magnus would be a good move

Right? You'd think that they were told by their parents that they could only pick one Optimus Prime toy so they feel like the one that doesn't transform is the only option and it's being force-fed to them.

    Sheesh.

Nope the 1/24 scale go for $20, 1/32 go for $8-$9. and if any hot wheels sized versions come from this like they did with the last knight movie at 1/64 scale they go for $5-$6 at retail at Walmart. Meijer and Target should be around the same price. Online is what you have to watch for if you see them much higher than the prices I listed I would suggest passing on them and keep a look out at retail or a better price online.

    I like your TF morals.

I like using the word 'morals', but honestly it's more like I don't see the point of it. Not my cup of liquid Energon.
But extra toy lines and accessories like this are not nearly as bad as the last G1 Actionmasters line, which literally did replace most Transforming toys with non-TF 1's.

Anyway, to each his own. Freedom is the right of all sentient beings.

Good. It's when the non transformable ones start asking high prices that I start having a problem with them.
