'Shadow Raider'. Basically they wanted to release a Lockdown with the mask but didn't feel they could justify two with the same paint job. Possibly it's meant to represent his crew. Though they weren't orange. Or cars.

Indeed. I'm still trying to wrap my mind around both SHATTER and DROPKICK sporting car aesthetics but changing into aerial vehicles. I smell another Drift Move on these two...

With some work and a lot of love, Shatter could make a great Metal Hawk Pretender. It's almost the exact same whatever transformation they came up with 30 years ago.

Problem is licensing. Bell and Lockheed (including Sikorsky) are interested in making deals where everybody makes money, Boeing (really McDonnell Douglas) is just a bunch of ulcerated, syphilitic dicks.

Wow. I thought the alt mode might mean dropkick would be on of he 'larger' (i.e. standard size) deluxes. But no:

Dropkick? Pftt......you mean re-sized Gen Whirl there? How many more old molds are they gonna "re-tool" in 2018?? $20 price point, and they want us to pay for old, retooled garbage? Fail.....

    Ebay:
Outside of the alt mode being similar, there aren't many similarities between the two (pic for reference)

That is mot Hasbro production politics. I seriously doubt there will be another Dropkick with car alt mode. Disappointment for me.

You mean "Hopefully they make deluxe triplechangers of these" :D

    Unrelated...>

Yo man, I thought the point of Studio Series was using the ILM 3D files, and to create the toys from those. Why would they wanna sully up the name so quickly? I'm sorry but that Dropkick doesn't look that movie accurate to me. Not in the likes of Studio Series we have already. Idk whaddyall think?

    OSKO bait ;)

I like that 2018 Bee is short though. I remember when I got Battle Blades Bumblebee in 2009 and he towered over the other Deluxes and I was like "The hell's going on here?"

You know how stupid it looks for a toy to have front bumper car kibble/pho chest and not turn into the car. They should of just either put in a deluxe package for the Bumblebee line OR waited a year and put out something accurate looking & triplechanging & not sullied the Studio Series line imo.

Maybe better posed pics will help?

Oh, yeah Bee definitely needs to be small.

No siller than a robot retaining kibble from their previous alt modes. Plus it still represents a character who has that alt mode even if you can't physically make that mode with that particular toy. Doesn't bother me, but I get why some people don't like the approach.

I'd be very impressed, though, if Hasbro could make triple changers with two, accurate licensed alt modes, and a screen accurate robot mode at the Generations price point.

I think it's been hinted at that they might turn into regular size cars and then a mini helicopter/jet to avoid mass shifting.

Quite possibly, though they feel like they should be taller than Bee himself.
