Geeze I wish, that game was fantastic, but I think Activision lost the TF license.

Activision only published it. Platinum Games made it.

While I wouldn't play this myself, I'm just happy to see Sega still making arcade boards. (And distributing at least one game internationally.)

Great news for the two arcades that still exist in the world.

It's also funny that with current hardware, console games now look better than arcade games.

I want somebody to use the frostbite 3 engine from Battlefield to make a Transformers game.
It'll look so awesome with all the destruction, an Graphics/Transformations

In Japan, there's TONS of Arcades still. Although in recent years there's been a bit decline due to the home console market. Unlike over in the West, where consoles pretty much killed the arcade scene over 10+ years ago.

    "We never never surrender."
I guess that explains how the Decepticons took over Cybertron.

Best TF games in my list are:
    - Armada (PS2)
    - War for Cybertron
    - Fall for Cybertron
    - Transformers Devastation

Anything made from Bayverse are mediocre just to make money out from the promoted movie.

I live in Japan and game centers are drying up quick. Or actually, dried up quick, as in past tense. Mostly all I see left are the ones in shopping malls, which are 70% gachapon, 25% card games, and maybe one sit down driving game. That's it. The landscape has changed a lot over the past couple decades. In this same area, you used to not be able to walk 20 steps in any direction without being able to throw a rock and hit an arcade. Maybe Tokyo still has more, but in mid-size cities or smaller, you're pretty much SOL.

But ironically, the one video game that exists in the one game center in the local mall is SEGA's previous sit down TF game.

Yeah, in smaller cities they're pretty much done. Tokyo still has a lot though. But I agree with you that they're drying up. Arcades / Amusement centers definitely do not have the same draw as they used to. Mobile gaming has pretty much killed that, too. I think all the companies out there are looking for the next Puzzle and Dragons hit :D  or are too busy making Pachinko Slot games.

We had lots of them here in the 80s and early 90s. Today, we have maybe one, and it's sort of an enthusiast "antique" arcade showcase, combining arcade machines with older amusements like the purely mechanical kind, shooting galleries from fairs, etc. But they will occasionally get new machines.

I've actually started seeing more arcades pop up in my area, at least 6 I can think of between the malls and the boardwalk. Only 2 have the Human Alliance game though, 1 is super expensive and the other has a gun that needs to be recalibrated. I miss just using quarters, now you gotta by a damn swipe card everywhere you go.

That's how it works though. Activision had the license to publish console TF games and hired developers like High Moon, Platinum, Edge of Reality, etc. to develop titles while they had said license.

Whoever has the license now (even possibly Hasbro) could, in theory, hire Platinum to make a sequel to Devastation, but would likely want to take their own stab at the property with a different studio.

Yes. That’s what I was trying to say, but I couldn’t articulate it so well.
