YMMV but always felt the level of \"Greebleness\" should be relative to the size of the toy. The bigger the toy, the more need for some detailing to break up what would otherwise be broad expanses of flat, featureless plastic.

My take is that on some of these, they\'ve gone too far for the size of the toy. While overdetailin may look up close, from a distance it looks kinda weird, like the figure is made out of unfinished clay or something. Not all of them are over the top in my view, but a handful definitely are.

Also, why in the sweet love of primus do Prime and Magnus have such greebled up WINDSHIELDS. That don\'t make no sense.

Agree on the weird clay look, like they're almost too shiny or a low res 3D print. I assume it's cause they're prototypes. I can't imagine the final production stuff is going to be like this.

My guess, on a marketing level, is to help differentiate this line from the Prime Trilogy, which had smoother, cleaner surfaces overall.

Magnus\' bot mode is great, if not a little (sigh, can\'t believe I\'m going to use this term) greebly. Not loving the alt mode, but I understand that it supposed to be like the... Cybertron (?) version. Is that right? Also really liking Hound and Sideswipe, even if I have no intention of getting them.

    That would be awesome.

I could get behind this. Especially if they make a Galaxy Shuttle that's compatible with the launchpad as well.

Botcon 2005 Ironhide is a pretty good Ironhide.

As a die hard fan of the Japanese G1 trilogy myself, he's my favorite too.

Man, I hope that silver battle damage paint is easy to remove - it does not gel with the rest of the CHUG figures at all.

They have completely nailed the look of the micromasters, very nice surprise - although bit of a shame they're just packs of two.

That Ironhide should have been Firestar/Novastar.

That white Prime mode... Ultra Fatnus.

It's kind of neat that it looks like a "core cast" here. Hound was a given, but I'm imagining this group with Magnus in place of Optimus and no Chromia and I am liking what I see.

Wish they didn't use Chromia but rather Windblade or Arcee instead, so there would have been less of an expectation for her to be able to combine. Pretty bummed with what Hasbro did with the combining gimmick: leaving teams incomplete and not doing more obvious remolds.

While I won't overly complain about the hyper detailed look, my main issue is that they won't look like they fit in with the previous figures released.

Especially if we get the Autobot targetmasters, powermasters or Flywheels.

On that point... I understand every Transformer is someones first and that's why we need a constant stream of Prime but it wasn't that long ago that we got Ironhide, Hound, Magnus... so boring, where are the previously mentioned characters?

In short, great execution but not much to be excited about for me.

I do love the micromasters. I think some of the designs from the classic sets are so good they should be up-sized into regular Transformers. Kinda like Countdown in Lost Light. How good would it be to see the Battle Patrol as a special strike force for Prowl. Super regimented, an anti version of the Dinobot's.

Anyway yeah, I'll be getting the little guys, which I hope they complete the sets they are showing off at least.

Bring on Hascon and hopefully Targetmasters, Slapdash, Flywheels and Seacons.

Magnus is inspired by the car robots design as well as early idw stuff.

Y'know, I think the characters that haven't had a good update are getting "clean" figures. There's no battle damage on Cog and the Micromasters, and Ironhide has comparatively little.

Well they did get figures previously but these feel like they’re doing them a different way. Hide & Hound were combiner wars figures and Magnus was more idw. I would love to see some seacons though.

thanks :)  I'm not familiar with IDW's take on him enough to see it - I thought that's what the Combiner Wars version was. I thought the bot mode was more G1 than anything.
