I'd prefer a non toon accurate Menasor combination, where the arms and legs of the combiners are the actual vehicles themselves, and not just used as parts slapped on extended skinny limbs from Motormaster. C'mon FT...don't fail me now.
Everyone knows his power comes from the Sparks of all five combined. It doesn't matter whether 80 percent of his body comes from the trailer. He needs all five bots to come alive! I like that everything is encased and there are no hands or feet to attach. Out of all the combiners, superion and menasor we're always drawn as if the boots just bolted on top of the character anyway.
Damn looks like there will be no area for a Con symbol on Menasors chest with that big hing in the way. Also his face really needs a do over.
Oh whoopie. I see ppl are complaining that a cartoon Menasor looks like a cartoon Menasor again. How utterly fucking delightful.
I think its actually pretty clever that they're using the entire trailer to make up for the Menasor skeleton. Not only is it accurate, its also partsforming that actually has a use in vehicle mode. The hinge in the middle of the chest is the only major gripe I have...
I'm not a fan of how this works, so I'll be skipping it but I gotta ask, what part of Menasor does Motormaster even form, if the trailer is basically Menasor's entire body?
That’s kind of a poor analogy. I’d say it’s more like if your wife/girlfriend/fashion conscious self/friend etc bought a red dress/shirt/jacket and it arrived with pink splotches and marks on it. The paint/surface finish on the outer case of a game console is not in any way related to the function of the product. The colour and finish on an expensive collectable product is a function of the product, just as the colour and finish on a piece of clothing is vital to its function. TFS absolutely should swap/refund and hit up the manufacturer for a replacement, just like a clothing store would replace a miscoloured or factory stained dress or shirt.
I only want cartoon accuracy as far as designs go personally, though for all this time I've assumed most people just looked at Menasor in the cartoon and went "if this was animated properly it'd look so much better" and as such people would want a toy representation of that. But everybody's got opinions and their entitled to them so, whatever works.
But what if you like the cartoon representation of Menasor? It's kinda iconic in its difference to other combiners. I'm sure a toy version will appear at some point. Zeta are the more likely candidates for that.
My hope rests on the reinvigorated Toyworld, or maybe MMC under the Oc Max line if Bruticus does well (and notwithstanding that their Bruticus has quite a bit of toon influence). Basically my dream is for a Studio-Ox type Menasor. At least the toon crowd such as yourself are happy. Both DX9 and XTB look to be putting out good efforts. In the meanwhile of a toy /SOX Menasor, I'm waiting for the new TW CW Motormaster replacement
Just fearmongering. Pay it no mind. I've purchased numerous times from TFS over the years and I can't recall any major incidents with products purchased through them.
Not saying there's anything wrong with anything from TFSource because it's TFSource. Look through the pages of this thread since it was released. Pint chips and flaws, gapis in alt mode etc. It's like TFSource got early access to pre-production samples. Pay those saying it is fear-mongering no mind. I'll wait till all other sellers get their stock and take it from there.
I see, you meant the quality of their stock of this particular figure. Based on the spottiness of the quality seen thus far I can see why you'd say that.
That's interesting because Peaugh seemed to indicate (I can't recall where this information appeared, in his review or via a post on this board) that he was told his sample was one of the first to come off the line. A fact that he felt may have led to some of the issues he encountered with his copy (i.e., bad paint, parts not turned correctly, etc.). If TFS did in fact get a shot at the first off the assembly line versions this could help explain why Peaugh's copy seems to align with the worst case posted in this thread.
