After looking at the trasformation of this beast I think I will put aside for the moment my Legend scale combiner collection plan (also because MS stunticon are still mainly WIP), and I will be on this one.

Sincerely I think that Bruticus was the perfect one to try this on, but this kind of approach could be probably applied only to certain combiner, and I'm thinking about Superion and Computron (but I think something good could be done for Predaking and Abominus as well).
Menasor will be hell due to Motor Master, and let's face it, Defensor with Groove is the probably the less doable of the bunch...

 

When I spoke to the MMC rep last year at TFCon he said their designs for the protectobots are outdated. My guess is they're redesigning them, or have put them on the side for now.

 

Exactly my thoughts with Groove. I could definitely see this perfect transformation/combination working with Computron.
Guess you just helped me make up my mind to go all in on this set, as it may be one of the very few Perfect Combination/transformation combiners I may want to purchase in MP scale.

 

I'm not sure that would work for at least the ends of the "wing pieces" given that they are actually formed by flipping Onslaught's pectoral pieces around (hence why they're molded in Onslaught's primary color). That sade, if Onslaught had a swappable toon accurate chest option, the backside of those chest pieces could be Blastoff colored.

I slightly agree, but was looking for a solution which allowed the designers to stick to their main design philosophy: all in one combination!

 

I love how and that they hid the rotor at the top of the arm!

Hey all, just wondering for those who have seen this guy up close at tfcon (or those who haven't but have reliable news), are these going to be smaller than Zeta's bruticus ? or will they be the same size?

They're clearly smaller. None have matched up to the TW/Zeta scale.

 

Oh yeah, I forgot about that project. I hope they incorporate the same level of sophisticated engineering in Defensor, as they are doing with Bruticus.

The set hasn't even finished being designed yet lol. Alternate colors will be discussed more seriously I would think once the g1 set actually goes on sale. G2, Ruination and Battle Gaia will all be up for consideration at some point I'm sure though.

 

Sweet, that's good to know. They haven't been released but these are shaping up pretty well.
