Yeah, I fail to see how this is supposed to be an improvement compared to the design she already has. It makes Windblade stand out a bit less if you strip away her more "unique" stylizing like this, and besides, we have characters like Bludgeon and Drift who also take from Japanese culture in their designs. Bludgeon is an especially egregious example of that and he hasn't been treated with as much controversy as Windblade and Drift.

As Kaiju said, Windblade's kabuki inspired design isn't necessarily the problem. In fact, it's what's helped her to stand out from other femmes and characters in general. Trying to strip that away from her like in this image just seems...wrong.

 

All of you are right to say that. Good thing this was just an experiment and not meant to lead to anything.
