I couldn't help but notice the Itunes preview text has an additional sentence that doesn't show up in any of the other previews I could find...

Sure, I'll rephrase! What sort of "British slang" did the Transformers use in those issues?

 

Rodimus’ comeback, the pay-off, anyway, is as bad as when Arcee told Starscream “geeeeeet fraaaaaaaaaaaagged” in Prime and oooooh it was supposed to be dark and edgy. The whole line sounded more like something Megatron or Magnus would say anyway.

 

It's also *supremely* verbose!! =) I mean, he had time to rattle off a whole essay. Maybe Scorponok's "as opposed to?" is because it seems like they're just doing friendly play-fighting!!

 

Considering it's Rodimus we're talking about, I'd have gone with:

• "Getaway Prime will always be dumb."
• "Getaway Prime will always be stupid."
• "Getaway Prime is never going to be a cool name."
• "Getaway Prime will never not be a load of scrap."

 

It's not about space robots using British slang or American slang or whatever else, it's more that some of us feel that there are bots who use it and it just doesn't feel like something they would say or fit them.

Anyway, my complaint about this is everyone's reaction to everything. Or rather, underreaction. Because it really undercuts the situations atmosphere if not even the characters are interested in what's going. And no, making a "meta" joke about doesn't make it any better either.

 

Those guys aren't point one percenters though. The only ones that are among the group are Grimlock and Magnus.

 

I don't think "Breakaway Prime" sounds that bad.

 

Always good to see Coller's art, though the brief fight scene between Scorponok and Rodders is a bit sterile. Better angles, some speed lines and more impact behind Scorpo's punches would do wonders. The "witty banter" is a bit grating though. Still, I do apprectiate how the cure seems to be a convoluted sci-fi version of percussive maintenance. Always liked crazy stuff like that in the series.
