So many missed opportunities for characters that are not prime, bumblebees, starscream, megatron. There are more characters that people are more willing to buy then those guys.

I can see that being the case. I also think they wanted to get having Earth versions of characters like Optimus and Sideswipe out of the way in some fashion so they can focus their attention on characters that have yet to get updated figures in general like Star Saber and Deathsaurus in the future.

Speaking of characters that have yet to see new updates I do indeed see Thunderclash being made from Siege Optimus like how we got Motormaster, and Octone from Optimus in the respective Prime wars line.

They just look like earth modes with upgrades or something.

I mean, I heavily dislike the look of this line, but the Sideswipe is pretty nice I guess, paint aside. He's kind of a TR Hot Rod style vehicle...
... And I would 100% be game for a new Hound. I love my Combiner Wars Hound, but a Hound who is just Hound would be pretty thrilling. Being a military vehicle, whatever crap Hasbro sticks on him would only be par for the course. There'd still be the ugly ass weathering, but maybe it'll pass for mud from going off-road on Earth.

Yes, and that is what I expected too. While I really, REALLY would love for Hasbro to do a WFC/FOC extension, sadly it will probably never happen. At least this was something close to it. I thought they would be like the G1 cartoon in episode one, remember? Not this silliness......before I die I would like to have a deluxe WFC Ironhide. I know it sounds silly, but that game's visual concepts were the pentacle of this line in my opinion. Never gonna see a WFC Slipstream, Demolisher, etc. Sadly, and kinda pathetically, I have to sub in Takara Prime Ironhide and RID Ratchet with my WFC Optimus and BB.

    Hasbro.....you bastards......

Fire Drive, Sideswipe, Optimus bot mode- YASSS!!

Optimus Truck mode: hmm, cybertronian vehicle designs for optimus have always been problematic. From War within to War for Cybertron to Fall of Cybertron to (ugghh) Striker Manus, I haven't liked a single one. I'm not really in love with this one either, but "beef up the old square truck" is an interesting approach and I can appreciate it.

Here's hoping his wave mate is a wicked new voyager Megatron!

It's not so much the price as it is the smaller sizes and cheaper quality. On top of that, we still get a bunch of repaints and they don't even engineer as many new figures as they used to. Now they re-use the same base and remold different details around it. I know that's still costly, but not nearly as much as producing new figures from scratch.

Not a great time to be a collector. TRU is gone. Big box retailers are grossly inadequate and online retailers are sadly becoming the only hope for many. Online retailers will take full advantage of that too which will only get worse as time goes on.

You know, I think now’s probably the best time we’ll ever get to see Reflector. He was only really in the MTMTE, and this (plus War Dawn) seem to be what Hasbro’s using for inspiration right now.

My only issue is where he’d crop up, as they’d be perfect Legend class figures along with a new Huffer/Pipes & Cliffjumper/Hubcap, but it looks like that line may be sitting out this toyline (it looks like the Legends have been replaced by the Battle Masters & Micromasters this time).

There are two Classics style 3rd party versions of him available right now, but I can understand if that wasn’t your thing.

In my Opinion these designs look more like Earth Cyberpunk, than Lazy Cybertronian.

I like them, sure I hope the Paint in person is good, and that they are Studio Series Quality.

Prime's roof is just curious. It looks like a solid piece with a big ol' pin, and just ends up hanging off his back in bot-mode.

Does it flip up to become some sort of platform for smaller bots to stand on as they roll into battle?

I knew it was gonna be this, but I didn't realize it'd be as g1 as it is.

You know I quite like the Prowl & Wheeljack figures, I just know it’s got some flaws that I do notice. Weirdly I’m ok with the head on Prowl & (Henkei) Smokescreen but can’t stand it on Bluestreak, perhaps the colours make it stand out more. I think if 3rd parties were around at the time & made a new head for them, I’d like them a lot more.

Wheeljack is fine, but I actually prefer the Combiner Wars (well, Takara Unite) version. The legs aren’t amazing on that admittedly, but I feel it looks far more like Wheeljack did in the cartoon.

Say, that's not a bad idea for a custom...

Not a fan of the prices. Reserving more judgment until reviews appear.

I noticed this too and have been thinking about it. There was already speculation that the new Counterpunch is a premold for this line, which if right adds another very Earth like car to the line.

Combine that with the name and...what if it literally is a war for Cybertron? As in: what if it's a post-earth story about taking back their homeworld?

I would like to see a Leader Class Megatron and nothing smaller.
