The worst part is that we already know that Pyra will survive this because of the early released Unicron issues.

 

Oh COME ON! The final issue of Optimus Prime and you get LIVIO RAMONDELLI? Drawer of obscured shadows and murky images instead of what the actual characters are suppposed to look like? What the hell happened to all the awesome Alex Milne art from Unicron #1? This... this is so disappointing, I don't even have any more words to say.

 

It's not the final issue, and Zama and Pitre-Durocher are doing art for it as well.

 

Hopefully in Unicron she gets ripped apart by Lio Convoy, BW Rampage or Quickstrike! That would be funny.

I know it wasn't directed at me, but I, for one, haven't read Unicron #1. And I have no intention to until "The Falling" has been concluded properly, thank you very much.

He was nice enough to respond to a tweet meant for John Barber asking if it was an error that Prowl still had his bad eye when he saved Goldbug in an issue of OP (forgot which one) when the end of MTMTE #57 had Prowl having two good eyes, implying he got it fixed.

Speaking of Prowl, when do you guys think he'll show up again?

 

Is not that he is a bad artist. I like Livio's art but...you gotta admit that some times, most of the times, bots do all look blocky and heavy and like--way grimmy. I know they are robots and they are at war but...I mean. I dont know. Lets just say he is a good artist. xD

you’re not the only one, I love Livio’s art and he’s actually one of my favourite idw artists. I guess art is a matter of taste, like what music we like but don’t get the criticism he gets. It’s different but I really like it and get annoyed with some of the less constructive criticism he gets. especially as he’s such a nice guy like you say.

ive not bothered buying much idw for awhile now but might pick this one up just to support him

Y'know...his art might be good on some kind of trippy Vertigo or Image title...but I've never understood why you would hire someone that can BARELY paint straight lines for a book about robots. It's the literal opposite of what I want from TF art, not to mention his scale being insane and all over the place. The same bot might appear to be 3 different heights in THE SAME COMIC. Ugh.

 

When you can't tell the Dinobots apart in a story starring the Dinobots you have a problem.

 

He's not good at perspective, angles and proportions. He usually draws faces as featureless blobs with poorly defined eyes, which look more glowing holes in their faces overflooding with light, and he uses this terrible smudge filter on all his art that he applies, and he does it very flatly.
