You never ask for this. My friends and I were making our own version of a Transformers card game in the 2nd grade. I've been wanting something like this for many years.

 

Looks fun. And hey, if Pokemon can be successful with different rules, and Yugioh can be too. I see no reason why this can't and co-exist with MTG.
If I'm playing a TCG, I want them to be different from each other with their own rules and strengths and aspects. Otherwise I'd play the one that originated it instead of imitations.

Plus this means as a new game, no one can have a strategy leg up by already knowing the ins and outs of a pre-existing game model. Everyone starts at square one with this as they learn what cards are out there and what they do, as well as how to use them, and have no set expectations on what's out there or about to be out there. Kind of makes playing it seem even more fun to see the randomness that may come out of decks.

And if it takes off, I hope they do a video game version too! That'd be awesome to have on the Switch.

might be interesting, i honestly don't want to see a mtg clone, i don't mind something simple and easy to understand right of the bat but this kinda looks like a tcg to make a quick buck will probably wait and see

 

Already I'm not a big fan of the oversized character cards and the fact the battle cards greatly outweigh the characters. Aren't the characters themselves the strong point of Transformers? Guess I'm just slightly sour 'cos I was looking forward to TF Legends art on card-sized cards, to go along with the sizes Hasbro has been adding with Combiner Wars/Titans Return/POTP...

 

Bumblebee is probably going to be a super common and OP card is my guess

 

I've been playing MTG for years as well, and quit thanks to every sealed game being somehow mana screwed and Standard being P2W; the new Ravnica block has the best chance of bringing me back. This new TCG, from the creators of Magic mind you, will be a fresh start for me and bring a larger audience into the TCG market, which will likely positively impact MTG.

 

It was literally happening every single game, either flooded or dry, regardless of how many or how few lands I had. But that's besides the point. I doubt these are even finalized versions of the cards, so hopefully they do have something like flavor text. Even just their signature quote.

 

I'm not sure where the negative reactions to this are coming from.. yes, we can infer some of the basic mechanics in that you somehow trigger an attack that lets you draw x number of cards, using the attack symbols that show up to modify a bot's attack value, somehow compared to the opponents defense value, which subtracts from their health, but that leads a lot open to interpretation. And we see two cards that seem like pretty generic card game actions. That's not exactly much to base an opinion on.. I don't know what people were expecting from a licensed card game, you aren't going to be getting an MTG-killer, but I don't see anything to say this is rubbish yet either (beyond being a CCG in the first place..).

Still waiting for Wizards to make a Transformers RPG. I mean come on Hasbro, you have the biggest tabletop game company ever as one of your subsidiaries, and you still haven\'t done it? What\'s wrong with you?!
