wow he does look absolutely incredible. so so good.

I was thinking about the $330 price today. Firstly I'll just say, it's way out my budget, but I had some thoughts.

I think what TT is doing is looking at companies like Hot Toys and Soul of Chogokin and their prices - they charge at least $300+ for their figures of varying size (SOC are often smaller than BW Megs). SOC are absolutely stunning aesthetically and loaded with diecast and paint (which TT isn't always, at least not to such an extent) but are often less intricate in terms of transformation and very often have less articulation than TT.

The problems with TT trying to match SOC's prices is that SOC are usually one off leading figures from a franchise. Voltron, Megazord, Gaogaigar etc. Maybe you collect a lot of SOC, but a lot of people have their favourite franchise/franchises and splash out cash on the figure as a decadent showpiece, whereas TT MP's are an ongoing series of high-end figures - something people are working to build as a collection. Maybe some people can spend $250-$330 per figure, but when its on a regular basis for each MP release, I think it's unrealistic and a lot to ask customers. Just my opinion, would love to hear more thoughts.

$329??? Might as well start asking $1,000 for them... that's why I stopped collecting MP as they think they are laced with gold or something.

There are usually only 2-4 new Masterpiece figures a year. I know far in advance when they come out, so I could save up for them. Masterpiece is one of the only toylines that I collect, so the prices really aren't so much of an issue for me (some fans collect many other lines, whereas I only collect two). Yes, they are pretty expensive, but since there aren't that many each year, I could afford to collect them. Unlike say Hot Toys, where a new Marvel figure or two comes out every month...

Look, this thing is perfect but I still can't rationalise the price.

    I wish I could.

I love the MP Dinobot & Megs, but I have mortgage. These Masterpiece price hikes are getting obscene. Takara is going to eventually price themselves out of the market.:(
If the BW line makes it DepthCharge or Optimal Optimus they'll be 18~22 inches tall and around 2-3,000.00 (USD). That's Prime Studios Level Crazy.

I like it but i personally think waiting to buy it is the best idea. I have a feeling takara will release another version of this with cosmetic differences or something (since this is the usual practice these days).

    This will be mine.

And by the way, this just reminds me that Beast Wars STILL can\'t be found on iTunes.

Also, SoC figures have a feeling of high quality to them that TT has yet to replicate. TT's strength is engineering, not materials.

I actually think it might be, I seem to remember his top front teeth not looking 100% perfect.

It actually is! TT's attention to detail is pretty remarkable.
