Maybe at least do a whole set grouped together in the end.

 

This set is going to cost me an arm and a leg when I am done and I can not wait! I've got one for a bot mode set one for combined mode and one sealed on the card still ... can't wait to get them all together for one shot when the set is finished

 

I get where youre coming from, but obviously you havent seen G2 combiner wars Menasor with the perfect effect and renderform upgrades IN PERSON. I can assure you its a thing of beauty not to be confused eith hasbros crappy stock images which I agree sucks.

I dont do MISB so ya damn right I opened "kar crash" (for me its Breakdown) But bait and switch to grt my photograph I personal feel is an invasion of privacy. Obviously it wasnt their intention, but still. You like the shitty CW figure? Go ahead. Don't tell people who don't otherwise. That thing is nonsense. And for 170 + wtv price renderform's upgrade kit is? Hard pass. You know why? Because when people pay for the combiner, every aspect counts. You pay finely? Every aspect better damn well be fine too. And CW stunticons is not that. I don't care what the upgrade kits does for the combiner. It can't help shitty engineering that is the individual figures. Give the best gun ever designed for a shitty figure to hold and its still a shitty figure. Nothing's ever gonna change that. Except a new figure. Which FP is providing.

 

You're talking about Takara Masterpiece figures there, right?

$200 for archaic Seekers, $300+ for a Megatron. 3P is a bargain by comparison.

 

400 for a beast wars Megatron. Back in the day it was third party that was the expensive one. Now, the tables have flipped.

Objectively, it seems exceptionally selfish to ruin something you're clearly done using just so no one else can use it. It's not exactly state secrets after all, it's a toy product mold.

Flaunting is the wrong word. People take every crappy product to task, no matter who makes it. And Takara's put out their share of garbage worthy of criticism.

So when it comes to 3P, you're still operating on information from several years ago that is long-since outdated. Many modern 3P Masterpiece-grade figures are as good or better than what Takara puts out. And the way Takara's prices have inflated, they're also cheaper.

 

Where's that money magically going to come from? Sending in photos doesn't generate income. Does money grow on trees where you live? Your idea of "reasonable" is someone else's idea of absurd, and seems based on a fantasy that doesn't understand how businesses actually operate.

$15 is quite likely to be as much or more than the profit on whatever figure the customer would subsequently buy. That large of a handout wouldn't help them make money.

Then it's a legal issue and you wanting a $15 handout is irrelevant. But legal issues are objective not subjective, so you'd have to prove how a voluntary submission of a photo is an invasion of privacy. Good luck with that.

 

You think my thought process is crazy. I think you should give yourself more credit. "Oh im just a lowly customer and they can take my photo and not give me s**t because its their god given right to fail". Maybe you dont think highly of yourself but I think I derserve better. I dont suck up to companies and offer condolences when they fail. I believe in holding them accountable and them taking ownership of their failures. Thats just my nature. You have the right to disagree but dont go calling me crazy for not having your low expectations. Glad you like the set. Glad youre willing to spend $400 all over again. Care to by my Intimidator? Ill happily give you $15 dollars off what I paid for it. Hell ill give you 15% off what I paid for it. Buying Intimidator was definitely one of my biggest failures and I take full ownership of that. 

 

I do agree that A3U could have presented some sort of follow up, even if it was just a "we're not going to be able to follow through with the contest at this time".

But to suggest that they've somehow taken something from you by you sending your photograph is absurd.

 

Over-engineering is also a form of bad engineering. It shouldn't take 2 hours to transform for the sole purpose of saying its for adults, not kids. Also a little over $200 is way better than $400. Thats extra cash I can spend somewhere else. But ive gone the 3rd party route before so its not even about the money. Hasbro's versiin is way more G1 accurate from a sunbow cartoon perspective. Once you get that PE upgrade kit on Menasor he is super cartoon accurate and blows Intimidator out the water. The thing that kills FPs version is how far off it is from any G1 incarnation of the stunticons. Their Dead End is the worst offender (last chance I believe) with a freaking car hood on his chest and a mouth instead of a proper faceplate. Their Dragstrip also suffers from non-G1 syndrome (wherther you prefer cartoon or G1 toy accuracy, he has neither) Not to mention he falls apart and suffers from an over-complex transformation. Kar Krash and T-Bone legs are ridiculously difficult to transform and require you to grow long fingernails to pry the car hood apart...eww. And Motormaster takes an hour to transform. There is no excuse for that. I need a youtube review just to figure him out. But another fail with "Diesel" is that he turns into a 80s Truck when the 4 limb bots turn into updated modern super cars. Why they didnt go with a truck similar to AOE Galvatron or TLK Prime is beyond me. And to think I wasted $400 on this figure just because I was too impatient to wait for Hasbro to do the inevitable...



As far as the 2nd paragraph...if youre not one of the people who bought Kar Krash and got suckered into taking a selfie with him in return for....well nothing, then never mind that part. Lucky you.

As I stated several times, store credit would be a great option. As far as the legal aspect of stealing peoples pics, Im not looking to go to war in court. Im just reminding everone here that the kar krash promo was an embarrassing moment that ages 3 and up never bothered to address, but IN MY OPINION they should have addressed. Any business can offer store credit. Some people here think they are too good for that. Maybe thats why im a TFSource/BBTS guy. They hook people up for their troubles.

Im curious to know what you thought about that failed Kar Krash promo a few years back? Did they get you to send a selfie too? Any insider info on what ages 3 and up originally had planned or why it never happened?

 

I think the G2 Stunticons were the most 90s of all of the 90s repaints.

I also think the G2 color scheme will be awesome on this team. And if they're serious about doing the others I'm interested to see how they turn out. I never owned the Intimidator set and from what I read I probably would have been very frustrated with it, but for display in individual modes I think they look great (feel the same about MT's generations-sized combiner teams).

Like I said in my post several pages back - this is right up my alley as a Fansproject fan and as a G2 fan. I wasn't expecting it but I bet it will be awesome in hand. I'm thinking they will look especially 90s xtreme next to MT's eventual SG Quantron team.

I also own and adore the CW G2 set. It's possible to like both, or just one of them, or to dislike both, although I don't understand why you would be posting in a thread about a figure you don't like (I don't know why anyone would even read a thread about a figure they don't like).

Im at work and have plenty of down time to post and I enjoy doing so. Im "adding" plenty to the topic thats relevant to this project and the company who is promoting it. Maybe I might be "adding" something a few ages 3 and up supporters would rather stay forgotten, but its very relevant. Plus its way more constructive than pages of comments saying either "pass" or "shut up and take my money".
